What Lurkers do when they're under ground shooting spikes out of the ground. It's a funny question but it's assuming these guys will return in the sequel

They...... feel for vibrations and shoot spikes in that direction?
I don't know what you mean by what they do... you mean like, do they play cards, etc....
If that's what you mean, I think they just want a little privacy.....
That's why I always burrow all my lurkers on top of each other ;)

Probably they have some kind of tentacle that can shoot out spines and they extend that tentacle to where the enemy is and shoots out spines.

No, the overlord tells the lurker where the enemies are. Remember that the zerg communicate through their minds too.
They feel the vibes... LOL

@ Timedragon , you may want to read the Zerg Mechanics thread before chastising me on the way the Zerg control units and determine where uncloaked units are. Since the Lurker has its own "vision" and doesn't need an Overlord around, that is not the only way they see units. In fact, they "feel" them quite well and only need the Overlord when there's a cloaked unit.
Yes, other units sight will help extend the range from which it attacks, but it can still attack without the sight aid of any other unit.
EDIT: Why has no one commented on my Lurker innuendo?

I dunno if that's funny, man....
Dude, the guy murdered his wife and kid... then apparently let them sit in the house, dead, for the weekend before hanging himself on the following Monday.

Totally got the innuendo, d00d. Actually made me laugh out loud when I first read it.
Although if you think about... that's gotta be one painful experience no matter how horny they might be...

The Lurkers have tea parties underground.
Clearly.
And watch the beverly hills ninja.
They are also connected with the rest of the Zerg (purity of essence anyone?!) so they shoot the spines where the other zerg see them coming. If there are no other zerg. uhhh... vibrations a la tremors.

Feeling vibrations, getting memos from Overlords. okey. What I am more curious about is how its attack works. I would like to see it attack in invisible earth, if you know what i mean. Like, does it shoot away a bunch of spikes from itself that goes up through the earth, or is is using long tentacles or what?

They are earth spirits that communicates with the big earth spirit Sunnis, who hardens small paths of rocks to damage the earth spirits opponents. They're kind of religious, those zergs.
Or otherwise, nobody will ever know, and I doubt blizz really cared about what happened.

A lurker-ultralisk hybrid would be awesome. Combining the powerful attack of the Lurker with the speed and otoughness of the ultralisk

thats like combining a unit that is good in certain situations with a unit that is better in other situations. Thats like eliminating that units weaknesses! The Lurkers weakness was hitpoints and speed, so now it would be able to run really fast into a group of enemys without giving them time enough to kill it.
Thats like letting siege tanks cloak man!

One time while I was playing protoss in brood war I captured an SCV with a dark archon and built up a terran base to siege tanks. Arbiter + Siege tanks = Pure evil.

Who cares how units attack the way they do. Threads like this one make me want to hang myself.
You must be emo. I like threads like this. How does the lurker do that? I guess they are just talented...

Well im using Lurker as a secret defence inside my based, i never used them to attack my based enemy, except if i dont have units to use anymore, and i dont release my lurkers if they dont have an allied air units. Because Lurkers are useless when it comes to an air units attack.
