Lol nice poll and yeah I'd be a dark templar to, I mean there freaking ninjas pretty much. Anything that can be permently invisible and can strike down half of the other units in the game with one attack? That just shows how great they are, although if everyone on the this site would make up the starcraft universe than we'd all be doomed since no ones going to be a probe,scv, or drone and for the carrier people your not going to have any interceptors either.

My guess is 8/10 people will be dark templars. They are just that awesome.

Ferget the interceptors we need some scvs and drones! (probes are mechs so we don't really need anyone to be them but if someone wants to be thats great for you.  :good:)

Also no ones going to be a dropship or shuttle cuase no one just wants to lug units around. (maybe some be a overlord since they control the zerg swarms) And if anyone picks the infested terran or a scourge than...... there suicidal.

Oh and the more I look back on the pools the more I see people wont be. No ones going to be a civillian just because thats totally lame in the sc universe. No one wants to be a broodling cuase there life span is like 180 seconds. The observer just floats and sees things. Someone might possibly be a science vessel becuase its fun to pop zerglings with irradiate.

God I'm doing so much editing if this was posting I would have like a quintupal post right now. No ones going to be a medic either becuase who wants to run around and heal other people while a zergling attacks you from behind?

Well, I've been there done that with Dragoons and Zealots. Not really my bag, see? As for energy, since I'm obviously a hero unit, I'd use a regular psionic attack, or just run away and let it replenish.

Ahhh I see well I've been thinking about it and I would like to change my vote even though i can't. I still love dark templar but I would like to be a dark archon instead. Why? becuase I can mind control people and have my own army plus if someone trys to attack me a can freeze them with mealstorm.

EDIT: I just noticed the hybrids thing and I kind of wished you hadn't put that becuase now everyones going to want to be a "awesome hybrid" and we won't learn anything about the people since we dont know about the hybrids. I would much rather you keep it without the hybrids so we can acctually learn about the people.

This is a good point... perhaps we should create a sepreate thread for this and leave this one for voting and just have link for any one who wants to rp with the character they pick. This will keep this one clean just for a what unit you want thread and open up a better space for this conversation we got going. Just a suggestion though.  ;D

Zealot. Great health and armor, shields can be replenished, strong attack, core Protoss unit that is always needed, very honorable and respected in the Protoss community, able to train to become a High Templar if I choose, able to return as a Dragoon if crippled or severely injured.
I wouldn't want to be a Dark Templar or Wraith or anything that relies on cloaking, because if you're found out, then you'll die almost instantly, because most cloaked units do not have all that much health.
I wouldn't want to be any Zerg, because they are just one in a swarm. They can all easily be replaced and no individuals are of significant value to the Zerg Swarm.
I wouldn't want to have to rely on technology that much. I know that Zealots do use technology a lot, but the Zealot will always be able to defend itself, but if you're in a Siege Tank or any other vehicle, then if it fails on you, your cances on living are not all that high.

No a archon is not biological nor is it mechical. It is a "etheral" being there for irradiate wouldnt work on it, this is the same reason you cant use something like lockdown on a archon as we..

Being a queen, for the parasite, or a medic or a science vessel for the support abilities would be great, but I would be pretty annoyed to be vulnerable alone against any combat unit, or even a worker... While being an hydralisk, I would be able to defend by myself against small attacks, join the swarm in big assaults, burrow if things get bad, enjoy a lot of passive upgrades, or morph if I feel like annoying some sucker who did not think about getting some detection devise within his base! :D

I think it's the cool-factor we're dealing with here. Lots of people want to be like those stealthy, telecenetic/psychic, dark and superior units. Hence why so many people voted DT or Ghost.

The votes mainly focus on the stealthy and combat units, while 1) there are other stealthy units ("Oh I would enjoy soo much to be an observer!!1"), and 2) there are, in my opinion, cooler units, like the tier3 flying ones for the people who want to impress (battle cruisers and carriers mainly), all the casters (queen, templar etc), and the workers somehow (they can build a whole base if they can find some resources).

So why these ones? Just curious...

Well, BCs and Carriers are powerful but there are actually a lot of people in there, so it's not that personal (you'd have to imagine you're the commander/captain I guess), while a Ghost or a DT is more independent and powerful on its own.

You said it. BCs are made for direct combat, Observers are made for stealth, but... If you want both then? Then there's only the Ghost and DT IMO.
