That would be hilarious!
Personally, I just hope the Swarm can infest more things than just the Command Center. Being able to infest say Archons would be cool. I like the the infested Battlecruiser idea as well. It would also be cool to be able to steal buildings from other Zerg players. ;D

lol It's strange how you infest a mechanical object because it just looks like you got mold and blood and something sticking to it lol, does it go in the mechanical gear and control the gear or what? Because I've never actually known had they actually infest a building, but I'd like to see a infested zealot. lol

I never really understood why you couldn't infest an SVC and start building an entire "Infested Terran" tech tree.
I suppose balance and uniqueness factors..... :(
it uses the creep and poors into circuits, then the creep OBVIOUSLY acts as a nerve synapse allowing the brain of said infesting creature to control the equipment.
how could you not get that ;D

Ahem. What I said was meant to be taken in a game context. In that I don't know why it wasn't coded into the games. A point I thought my second line made clear.

i was talking to Darth Vergessenheit .
i think zerg can infest anything they want, in ghost they infest a refinery for instance, but it jsut woudnt be balanced

An infested Queen that can be used to make units made by an enemy after that point attack its creator ;D
Or.. an infested Dark Archon.
Or.. the second most powerful possible unit, Infested Zeratul :P
I think the Zerg has already infested the most ideal person half way through the story in SC1...:P
Anyway I think infesting a Protoss would be a good idea, meaning the purity of form are combined with the purity of essence. LOL at Zeratual above. It's gonna take some tough mentality to infest Zeratul....

It took intelligent people a long time to make a protoss/zerg cross. so i doubt the zerg could actively infest protoss people. buildings are different, but it wouldnt be terribly useful, as everything is warped in instead of assembled on the spot.
one thing that would be cool is if you could infest buildings and use them for creep(ie capturing a forward area to establish a base), but building units out of everything is a bit much.
I think a Zerg player should be able to infest all of Zerg enemy's structures. Like you can turn an entire enemy's base into your base. But that would probably require a lot of time and resources.
1st - we need an overlord to be hovering over it to heighten the structure's senses
2nd - the queen will need to deploy some spell to cause the living structure to become detached from it's cerebrate
3rd - the queen will proceed with the infestation which will take about 1-2 mins.

kinda impractical, you could unload 8 drones from the overlord and have the base established on top of theirs in 6 minutes, without having to let an enemy live.
True. The thing here is you have to destroy most of their base 1st in order to build it on top.

did you ever stop to think that blizzard wont care about our suggestions, because the games already built?

But it's not. They're not releasing it till next year. And according to all indication, even the Protoss aren't finished yet.

i dont think any of us posted here with the idea in our heads any of this would be read by someone from blizzard.
jsut having fun really...
This is what this forum is currently about; speculations, inferences, hypothesis, suggestions, gossips and rumors. Blizzard might not send someone here to read our topics and posts, but we are attempting to become the official fan site for starcraft 2 since we've got such a head start long before the game is released. So all of you should contribute as much as you can and we might just get it :)

Maybe infesting things will be some kind of Zerg superweapon that can dramatically change the course of the game... They did say that ultimates would be really different from each other, maybe this is a good idea. Of ocurse, the infested building should be infested instantly and not need to be damaged, and it'll be cool!

i think your right, it is something unique that the zerg can already do, and it was a bit wasted (multiplayer) wise in starcraft1.
so i agree , good post.

How bout an entire Infested Terran and Protoss race? Add 2 more races to the game with their own tech trees, and everything. Ive already heard about the Toss-Zerg mix called the Xel Naga. But there should be a Zerg-Terran Mix too.

The Zerg-Protoss mix is called Hybrid ;) The Xel'Naga is the race that wanted to create the Hybrid.
There are speculations that there'll be a 4th Zerg-Terran race base on Kerrigan as the leader in SC2.

Zerg should be able to infest anything in the red zone for terrans and anything without shields for the toss. That would add a little more spice to the game and make the queen more dangerous.

Shouldn't it be red zone for toss aswell? Or is that just meant to be more dangerous for toss vs zerg?

Well, maybe toss in the yellow zone, but you have ot remember that toss's zone dosent change while attacking the shield. And yes, it could be meant to give the toss something to fear lol.

if there was a zerg building, that just kinda "ate"infantry, like the pit in the dune sea from starwars, then spit out infested units, it would be pretty wicked awesome. youd then be able to turn your base defense into a factory unit, because as long as they charge, they die. there could be an energy charge too, so until that point you just hold the units. then when you have the energy, you simply transform. you could also consume units.
the only problem would be for Z v Z games, because its kinda hard to infest something thats already zerg.

lol that'd be funny infested zerg XD infested infested kerrigan lmao
well maybe it wouldn't trigger for zerg units since it sees it as it's own race? oh and i dont really think zerg should be able to infest protoss, it would just get the game even more complicated. plus most of the protoss are mechanical while the terran have a lot of biological units. and i also think that they might not expand on the infested concept because in brood war it isnt infested marine or scv or any other units it's just infest terran. but then again they could change it.

Yea, your probably right about the toss.
Zombine

well, it would only be infested terran, because whats inside of all of these units?
its not like every unit is controlled by different things,so if you infested protoss, there would only be infested protoss. it wouldn't be full hybrids, because the only real difference would be the mind controlled units. Maybe strong, probably powerful, most likely too powerful to just strap a det pack on and have run into a crowded area. remember the mutants from yuris revenge? something like that.
i didnt suggest mechanized units because there are too many variables. let the sunken colonies work them over. If you have the crystal brains utilized by the mech units of the toss(reavers/probes) then it couldnt be stripped off and infested. so then you just have that there. i suppose you could have it target zerg units and mechanical units and immediately turn it into energy instead.
i imagine these things would be a late game defensive boost for the zerg. i can see it being high cost, so its only feasible to build one per defensive area. sunkens would still be the main defensive armament, these would just support them.
i could also see it having the ability to open up anywhere in the creep over 10 matrix squares, so it would render the siege tank less dangerous. that way theres more incentive to use air verses the zerg.

Nice idea but I think it would be better if it just ate the units and gave some resources to the zerg player instead. That would elimate the infestation problem and give rushers something to fear; losing all those units and giving their enemy an economy boost.
