View Full Version : Diablo 2 on b-net 'Hack Items?'

Has anyone ever had issues with players using what are called 'hack items'?

These items give the players many abilities at the sametime; including auras, life increases, speed increases, and resistance increases.

One example of one I say was a grand charm that gave the holder all paladin auras at 30 lvl's each, and they are permanently cast simultaneously as long as its in your back, meaning all damaging auras are always in effect as well as all healing and resistance auras.

Other ones I've seen are boots that add +5000% running as well as other life and stamina benefits.

I've also seen people be able to cast the silk web that spiders use for slowing down enemies, and the ability to kill other players without ever casting a spell because of massive aura damage benefits.

You just can't let it go can you eon? Does it really matter if someone use "hack" items? I mean obviously it takes some of the fun from the game but just ignore them and go some where else, and I've made up my mind from what I said in spam land.

Burn it in a unholy rage!!!

Oh and by the way eon you should have put this under "other blizzard games" but it's not that big of a deal I guess...

uhh dude how is this charm making the skills lvl 30 the max is lvl 20 i can see going over a few lvls with an item helping but a whole ten lvls is just crazy you shouldn't play with ppl like that but speaking of really strong chars i can make my morrowind guy like a god

EonMaster

It was a good arguement and though it should would be more at home here in 'other games' rather than space junk's spam land thread.

I just want to see what people think about them. I don't like them, but that doesn't mean others like then instead.

Edit: about the charm, I'm not sure how people do it, or got it that good, but aparently there is a way to create your own items with its own abilities. And he said that was what he did.

Did you notice my edit eon? You should probably get a mod to move this to other blizzard games, since thats where it acctually belongs but it doesn't matter that much I guess.

EonMaster
11-02-2007, 10:18 PM
ok, i read it a second ago and will ask it to be moved

darkone
11-02-2007, 10:19 PM
it doesn't really matter if a mod is so bothered by it he'll prolly move it don't worry about it otherwise

EonMaster
11-02-2007, 10:25 PM
aw, I already sent the PM but didn't but that in there...however, I did say thank you for you time and gave both link and thread title as well.

I still can't figure out how people find or make those hack items though, it seems to add more manslaughter to the game.

Dude, the only place these charms and 'hack items' can happen is open battle.net, and its nothing special. There everything is allowed.

KuraiKozo

I agree with Eon 100%.
It's not fun if people use hack items to weild out some evil spells and beat the living tar out of you once you step out of the damn bloody town.

Example: before i quit playing because the game decided to be sexist and delete everything in my stash, including my hack items that i obtained, my horadric cube and all my runes+gems, i was a big Diablo II fiend.

I am a awesome necromancer, though I wans't as obsessed as eon, who got his guy to level 86. i was level 79, if i remember correctly. well, anyway, i decided to play online. it took me quite a while to find a place w/o some level 99 dude, but once i did i was beheld with an interesting challenge. some level 50 sorceress said "kill me and i'll give you aweosme hack items". well, i knew there was probably some catch, but i wanted to try anyway.

The sorceress stood outside town, and i stepped out to fight her. in two seconds, without beng touched of fired at, my character died, my blood, money and body, spilling all over the ground. It didn;t matter how many times me and the othrs ganged up, the moment we were out of town, we died. even summoning fire golems and blood golems and every kind of golem outside town did nothing. they died right as they were summoned.

I want to enjoy the game, and it's no fun if twits use hack items to gain advantages. that sorceseress even killed a lvl 99 sorceress who also had hacks the moment she stepped out of town. not to mention she was a jerk and wouldn;t let us get our bodies back, so we had to wait hours for her to get off, with the constant fear that the connection might die.

Hacks kill he fun, and I would have no problem with them if there was a specific place for players who didn;t use hacks, so you could actually enjoy the game. But alas, there is not. So therefore online play is a husk of what it COULD be.

Right. Do you even know what you are talking about? Is this about closed battle.net?

Right. Do you even know what you are talking about? Is this about closed battle.net?

No, it was the other one (forgot name and can;t find the disc, sorry). We have another computer here, and TCP/IP games were fun. Just me and Eon going through slaying Diablo on nightmare and such.

True gamers don't need hacks to acomplish their goals.

That's open battle. net. Who cares about it? 99% of people play closed, and the rest just use hero editor to make some ultimate character with 'hacks' and then they duel.

True enough, but I played open just for fun.
that's really besides the points of annoying hack items though. I'm jsut say they're brutally annoying, becasue even though "99%" of people play closed, there are plenty who play open battle.net, too. Of course, you're right that they hack the living soul out of the game, but still. It would be nice if you coudl be in an open battle area w/o hacked items.

EonMaster

Hacks are anoying, which is why I never did open b-net. I just wonder how the heck they make those items. If tried every search engine, and I've got nothing.

Its called Diablo 2 Hero Editor

Or, there are places where you can download already made 'hacked' characters.

that's my stuff.
But my stash got deleted D:

EonMaster
11-03-2007, 08:19 PM
Is that why you opened your stash, only to find it empty?

What was in there?

KuraiKozo
11-03-2007, 08:25 PM
Yes, that is why.

My horadric cube, my backup armor, a few really cool hacked items i coudln't use yet [put my other ones to shame], my runes, my perfect gems, everything was in there.

@GM, what if she likes to use hacked items? She can only play on open then, unless run the risk of all her items being deleted.

Well thats a risk you are needed to be willing to take then.

LOL, yes, i have hacked items. Almsot everyone does, I personally earned mine beign slayed over and over by players who thought it was funny and rewarded me by throwign me a bone, so to speak.

and i coudln;t open closed for some reason.

As for lv. 30 in a skill isn't unique, in all auras is of course imposseble.... My lv. 99 barbarian had consentration lv. 34, but 14 of those lvs. was achieved by special equipment....

KuraiKozo
12-09-2007, 01:03 PM
really?
my level 79 necro has like lvl 25 in his bone spear w/o extra items and like 40 with it xD [excluding hack items]

Namor
12-09-2007, 01:10 PM
Yea.... but i used a special armor build where i focus on consetration, Iron Skin and Natural resistance.... which makes the armor on items the moost improtant attribute.....

Spellcaster only focus on +to skills......

the only problems with necros is their rather weak defense.
i always wanted to run in and fight when i played with eon, but i awlays got killed because i rushed in, while eon used his skeletons from afar.

the msot evil thing in the world is the hidden cow level! Dx

EonMaster
12-09-2007, 07:13 PM
You just don't like the cow lvl because you die there becauseyou always try to rush in to fight them. Then you have lots of fun trying to get your stuff back.

The time I had the most fun in diablo 2 was when my first B.net character, a barbarian first came into nightmare. I was rushed act 1 by a high-level, but then all of us in the game, 7 low-level noobs were left alone in act 2. We organized and decided to do this.
One of us turned out to have a wp, so we warped into the Far Oasis and went out to search for the Maggot Lair. After a couple of minutes of slow killing and lots of running, we were making relative progress. But then the terror struck, around 20 Blood hawks (those small bat-like guys coming from hives) with hives all around rushed at us in one big swarm and we were massacred, if we either stood and fought or tried to run. We were massacred, all of us. Then came the fun part, trying to get through the wp to our bodies and back again with the swarm on the watch, trying to organize, trying to plan. I remember after some of us caused a minor distraction I managed to get my body, and just then those guys were killed and the ENTIRE swarm came after me. It was a such awesome sight, me, a barbarian running at full speed, heart pumping, with a countless number of blood hawks just centimeters away, all wanting to kill me. I made it with like 10 lives left. It was something to remember.

http://www.diablo2.com/images/monsters/act1/bloodhawk.gif Heres that monster btw.

Yea... Diablo 2 is one of the four games i have had most fun with. Together with Starcraft, Warcraft 3 and Zelda: Ocarina of time.

3 of those are Blizzard games.... Hell they do a great job.. I bet SC2 will be fantastic :P

KuraiKozo

Any zelda game is good!

off the topic of on the topic, no eon, it's because cows are just evil! an bipedal bovine weilding a halberd is quite terrifying!

makes you feel bad for all those times you ate hamburgers at tha family cook out ._.

I love cow level :P

They have weak melee defence and bad attackspeed and there are loots of them
----> Good exp :P

And they all say mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo when they die... That counts a lot:P

EonMaster
12-12-2007, 09:59 PM
The cow level is fun, but they can easily kill you if you get surrounded. I prefer to sit back and let my skeleton army do the work, with a few corpse explosions added for massive destruction.

KuraiKozo
12-15-2007, 12:44 AM

Namor
12-15-2007, 01:55 PM
I donno... I have only played pala, barb, ass and druid in cow levels above normal (nightmare or hell).. unfortunately all of those are melee characters so i haven't had a chance to try cow lvl with caster, but for melee cow level is much easier than any of the the enemy's in the usual acts..

KuraiKozo
12-16-2007, 04:15 AM
i play all the necro. I have a pally, but i never got quite that far.

But no lichking, with one word: Hammerdin...All cows fall prey to the hammer-fields, not to mention they deal much more damage.

Hunter
12-16-2007, 08:41 PM
I think caster is the most fun with cow level. Especially sorceress' frost orb/glacial spike. Watching them explode by the dozens is really satisfying!

Yeah, I like it with blizzard, the only bad thing about is you can only do it once a level, and the cow king is so easy to kill, that I can't even spot it before he is dead..

KuraiKozo
12-17-2007, 02:47 AM
Now I feel weak for dying there so much. It might have to do with me being stupid and runnign ina little too far then getting swarmed.

It's really great being a barb and using whirlwind in there, they fall by the dozens, that is a great place to get some powerful items.

KuraiKozo
12-17-2007, 08:50 PM
Yes, powerful items are worth it ^-^

yes... It really is... a life and mana drain (usually a skull in weapon or amulet) and you can continue without ever using potions... All the moooooooooo sound.. I love it :D

Hammerdin is also fun... it goes like moo moo moo moo.... funny :P

xD

The big problem with having melee characters is to take the Oblivion Knights at Act 4.. They cast Iron Maiden on you and suddenly you killed yourself... Act 5 is just hard... so cow lvl.. is really a relief and sometimes you get some youseful drops...

Hunter
12-22-2007, 05:05 PM
Yeah the only thing you hear there is moo mo mo mooo than the cows swarming at you ;D I was all laughing there at the first time

12-23-2007, 03:18 PM
Hmm.. Since blizzard is *most likely* going to make multiple paths to the end of the campaign in SC2, maybe they can make a secret funny starcraft 2 lvl???

There was something like it in the WC3: FT campaign, a funny tower defence mission where you where Blood Elf and had to protect a portal...

My Zealot paladin kicks the crap out of everything in the cow level. Zeal is such an underrated skill in my opinion.

KuraiKozo
12-24-2007, 03:38 PM
Funny levels are awesome, but game creators also have to eb careful. If it's too ridiculous sometimes people will be angry or mad at the game. Even if that seems a dumb reason, it really is important. Serious games want to keep their serious demeanor, and if they goof aroudn too much they think it coudl upset their reputation or make people like the overall game less.

I used Frenzy for my werewolf-druid. Love druids in cow levels, oak sage makes me gain sooo much life + BO from a barb.

I made a summoning druid for fun, maxed out spirit-dire wolves and Bear. LAWL, they couldn't kill crap.

You only encounter hacked items in open B.Net. Go to closed and you won't see them very often.

I personally have a level 127 Necromancer will all skills level 99, and armor/weapons/jewelry that make it so any hostiles within.. well, any range... die immediately.

even if ppl are using hacked items on d 2, so what it is so easy to avoid them and it is also quite easy to get good enough equipment to counter them. i mean, by the time u get enough high lvl equip everyone dies in pretty much 1 hit ne way. ya they do 10x as much damage as i do but i do more than enough to kill them as well. doesnt matter that he did enough to kill me 20 times in a single attack, he can only kill me once and i will take pretty much anyone that i duel with me, that is of course if u can hit me.

There is a hack program... I remember my brother and his friend using it on LAN. They wanted to try out how strong they could get I guess. It was like a list. You could click on any item and click on "Create" or you could name your own item and type in stats O_o

They didn't use it online though. They weren't that lame =P
