That's why I don't like that you HAVE to put your name in it and HAVE to post it here. If we all had to do this anonymously, the voting would be more fair. We could, for example, mail links to our signatures to Inside Sin and HE would place them in a separate voting topic. That would be the best thing to do, but hey, that's just my opinion.

On the other hand, people could start sending PM's to each other to say which piece of art is theirs, but if you are lame enough to do something like that, then you aren't even worthy of competing here. ;)

No I wasn't talking about anyone specifically, but I have seen competitions like this one on other sites to, and they all vote the way I just described. I just thought it would be nice if we would do it to.

And about your vote on EatMeReturns, I know a few reasons to vote for it to, but I probably won't. ;) (Although I really like the style and that you the fact that you dare to come up with something like this. It's like, really original.)

I have many styles myself, but I get your point. But can't a mod see what someone voted for? If someone would vote for their own signature, they would simply be disqualified.

If i see any posts that are not serious and do not have a good reason why they voted, the vote will be deleted. ( So will the post if it is crappy enough. )

There will be a poll, but every vote must be stated in a post with reasons WHY that person voted.

I love MK Armageddon and even though Cyrax is not my favourite character, he has one of the coolest appearances. I changed his colour to orange to suit my taste. The background is made up of spokes from bicycle wheels.

i have a question. after i save optimize(gif) my work on image ready(photoshop) the save picture does not resembles the original look of the pic in image ready. it is not clear unlike the one im working on. its low qualit. anyone? thanks.

I don't really like the ones where people have just placed a video in someone else's work. But you guys can decide weither to let them enter.

Me and SD-Count have decided, we will not have a poll. But instead we will use a thread and every unique post of a Username will count as a vote, i will tally it up at the end and we will have a winner.

Remember everyone has to have a reason on why they chose the signature because of the effect/graphics of something related to it.

This is the first SotM so some slack will be cut. As long as the .gif or .swf or whatever was made by hand it doesn't really matter (for now) that they use other people's art work. The time they put to make it into a compilation makes the piece their own. As for anonymous polls, we still need to be able to keep track of who voted and more importantly why; therefore for that to work Inside Sin will need a bigger PM box :p although not a bad idea.

I am thinking that, we could make it private until the ending of voting, but we could only do this by PM atm, so its pretty hard. How about we do this...

We create a poll which is got all the signatures on it. People vote on the poll according to which one they want to see win. The votes will be hidden until poll ends.

But....

When you place a vote in the poll, you have to PM me "WHY" you voted that signature in the poll. It would eliminate all the people who just vote and leave without saying why. I'll have plenty of space in my PM box, i hope... If not, i'll delete some PMS.

But i hope this should be an awsome way of dealing the winner.

I believe the reason why he wants people to submit votes via PM is to sort out the legitimate ones from all the illegitimate ones who just click on an item to vote and will prevent creators from voting on their own creations. Though it would take a lot more time and effort, it is the only safe way to go.

To be honest though, the anonymous voting is the faster method and people can vote without saying "I liek this one because all the others are teh suck!11oneone" If we do go with the PM voting method, I would have to say that Inside Sin should be impartial in these competitions and therefore should not participate in any SOTM.

We have all decided we are going to just go with a poll where you can't see anyones votes until the end.

This way you can't vote according to Group, and it shows what the percentage of people want to vote for.

I hope this is a good way, if it goes terribly wrong, i will change it around next month. But this should go fine.

Finally we came to a nice decision, when is the voting going to start?
(And what about those animated arts with other peoples work in it? Can they still join the competition, or will they have to make another one. Personally, I don't really care, but I think people only should use their own work...)

Well, we will make it a RULE. That if you use something such as Zeratuls Ghost, you need to prove you created the background the .GIF is running on. Otherwise it should be disqualified.

But, from now on ( After December's Comp. ) You will only be aloud to use animation in Animation Themes. They will be speicified in the Month's Comp.

I will edit the SOTM Guidelines after this month.

Voting will commence on 24th of December in AUSTRALIAN TIMES.

Anywhere between 10am - 6pm.

If i have a reason i am not online, i will start it the following day, or the day before.

OMG! i made my sig. i made it.

ok the border its not mine the nova ghosts pics are not mine. but i IMPROVISED and EDITED the borders the way i want it to look like for my sig, manipulated (cut, edit, colored, etc.) nova images, color addition and changes, overlap images, special effects, animation are OFFICIALLY my work.

it took me a lot of time to finished it dont tell me i will be disqualified.

inside sin im sure your masterchief pic is not yours right? then we are the same we just added something on it.

Calm down, you're not going to be disqualified. However in future events the rules are going to be changed so that the entries are actually digital art not just a slide show. I realize that the render is not Sin's but he did compose the render inside a signature and placed everything where he wanted, did effects etc. Since this is the art section and this is an art competition we try to promote hand made digital art.

btw JBL artwork also has no original content except for the label JBL.. he only made the video animation and layout etc. so i should be treated equally as JBL. =\
