From what I know, yes. The admin will set up a string of clues that allow you to find the next clue. The first clue will be located on this thread, and the final clue will have you PM him the answer to the question on the final clue.

Unless one of the mods of sc2forums says otherwise, I would say working together is cheating. If you just make a pact to split the winnings that is probably acceptable but if you actually tell each the answers and provide hints im 99% sure that is cheating.

Also remember assuming it is cheating (which again im pretty sure it is) sc2forums generally takes away from you an amount relative to what you won. And if I remember correctly the number is generally something like 5 times the amount gained. So if you won 10,000 minerals but you cheated thats probably 50,000 minerals your saying goodbye too. Which in the case of most members that is all of their minerals and everything they own.


EDIT: @Rex again splitting the minerals after the fact is one thing but helping each during the competition is something else entirely.

While I can't speak on the admin's behalf I believe he would consider teaming up to be cheating.

The point is to be the quickest on your own, and it's not all that hard. By giving out answers and clues you're effectively stacking the cards against other players and their chances of being in the top finishers. So yes, this would be considered cheating.

Trooper, right now it's 4000 minerals (original price 2400, only 6 pieces were made and it's sold out so I think it's generous). Since I have already dropped the price from 6000 to 4800 and even below that, I don't intend to go any lower.

I personally, like the idea of having a very small number of Motherships because it along with the theme of the unit (you generally will only get a small number of Motherships in sc2 unless they make it unique again then you will only have 1 at a time). Also I see the small as a good thing, becuase it helps make the Unit unique for the people who actually saved up the money to get one instead of going after other things first. Think for a second if everyone that wanted one had, would it be that unique of a unit? Look at the the Kerrigan doll for example its not coveted because its Kerrigan its covetd because there is only 3 ot them.

I bought the cheaper units because I though it would be a good idea to buy them now instead of later since more people could afford them(saved me from the probe/zealot trade crap). But I wasn't expecting the MS to see selling as fast as they have been. I'm not planning to buy anything else until I can afford the MS (if there are any left by then...).

I would go as far as saying killer, but that inst the issue. First im not the only person to own more than 1 Mothership. Second I havnt contradicted myself, my first point was to point out that having a small number of them available to the public increase their value and uniqueness (I think there is only 15 thors its the same way), my second point was to point out that the thme of the unit itself encourages having only a small number of them.

Finally will notice im not the only to buy one today, I just chose to do so because if I ever wanted more this would be my chance because after the mineral hunt it would almost be guranteed all 3-4 (there was before I bought mine) would be gone by anyone who wanted one and also placed well in the hunt.

Finally for the record there is still (as of the last time I checked) one left so they are not all gone and this kind of situation is no different then people buying mutiples of the statues that now currently out of stock.

How many do you think would have been left after the mineral hunt? My guess atleast 2 would have been bought any more than that and this argument becomes moot. (considering if you give my 2 back there would still only be 3)

Also, I originally was going to wait for Carriers to become available so I could get 2 of them first. Either way though I was planning to get more Motherships at some point in time. I just chose now because I was/am willing to bet they will be gona after the mineral hunt anyway (thats assuming history repeats itself).

Finally is there a difference between first and second edition? If you answer yes then you must see why to buy them before they were sold out. If you answer no then why not just wait for the second edition?

My guess was that all four would go after the hunt. The point was that with only one left the first person to finish hunt will likely buy it, unless not interested, but I doubt it will go further than 3. Of course I'd love it to be otherwise, but that's how I see it.
The point about editions was that you already had one of those in your possesion, but as I said I'm just pissed and my points may not make much sense at all.

Back to numbers, right now half of the 10 Motherships belong to 2 users, say all you want but with relatively large userbase and number of active members that's just too unique for me. It's fine in case of statue items and similar collectibles - they are meant to be that unique and few in numbers, buy IMO there shouldn't be that little pets*

*I'm aware that with coming of 2nd ed the 1st ed ones turn into such, yes.

If your aware of the fact that the first editions will become collectable and are still not satisfied im not sure what I can tell you thats gonna change your opinion. Also you bring up the fact 2 users own half of the Motherships, well look at the kerrigan dolls currently 3 users own them all. Also if you want another example 1 user currently owns 25% of the collectable probes.

I really dont want to debate this anymore. So if you would like some sembalance of a reason here is one. I am pretty big capital ship fan, even from when I first played starcratf (if that isnt abudantly obvious from my profile). With the Protoss video and the reveal of the unit I absolutely loved the idea of a flagship unit for the Protoss. The very first post I made on this forum was a poll about the Mothership changes at blizzcon, and my disagreance with the changes. Out of every topic of this forum, I have probably debated the Mothership the most by far and I dont see that changing anytime soon. In short I love the idea of the super unit Mothership and I want to be the user who owns the greatest number of them.

That probably sounds selfish but its the closest thing your gonna get to a reason why I bought em.
