The guy who posted the new leaked video on youtube has some descriptions on new unit on that page also, one of the things that we see is the high and dark templar return (already being discussed in dark templar topic) but I noticed that he also talks about observers returning. Is this a trustable source?
"Observer: The invisible flying eyes of the Protoss are back. We can confirm they'll be in the game, but further details are shrouded in secrecy."

(thanks to Gold for mentioning the text area)

I think the Observer won't be coming back into the second game.
I don't have any proof. I Just think they'll make it a diffrent name/use/type

I think it makes sense for the observer to come back unless they have some other unit that would act as a detector.
Anyways the observer is so cute. ^_^

yeah, what would they use instead of an observer?
"oh **** a nuke has been launched! Oh **** a red dot on my nexus! Quick, build a photon cannon!"
and also I would routinely click on my observers and observatory just to here them "boopboopdeboop"
where did you get that from coal?
magic man!!!
i think the observers look very cool now, but is the dark templar coming back, i on that guys page it says that they are, but then thats going over 13 units (they said they woudnt be going over the number of units within starcraft1)
wierdness
Maybe they'll make up for that by taking some from terrans ;)
I so hope that "Dark Templars are back" part is true, them and carriers were the two units I've been waiting for most to come back

I think a phase prism would be a good detector
in all of the trilers, the unit just "stands" there, and sometimes acts as a pylon power source, it never used any type of atack

The reason Phase Prisms just "stood" there is because they are the new Shuttle. The old Shuttle didn't have an attack, nor could it generate psi fields, so I'm loving the new Phase Prism.
And Observers were just so good at what they did...

eh i like observers cause they are quick to build, they are cheap, and they are cloaked. one of the most useful units for the protoss in terms of scouting and warning signal for an attack.

yea phase prisms are the new shuttles. no need to combine it into a transport/detector. that's unique to the zerg (or supposedly, we'll see) anyways.

Oberservers must and shuld be back. They are cheap, great and fast to build. And they're useful for those pesty spider mines ;)
I would like to see observers to have slightly more HP and plasma shields. Yes, "they are cheap and so they should be weak". But the protoss are not meant to be cheap and weak :P Anyway if they are more powerful, it'll be easier so send an observer into a zerg enemy's base without it dying, overlords are just everywhere.

yes and no^^
yes, it seems to weak as a toss-units
but no, because:
i take the example with the good protected zerg base. If the obsis are strong enough to fly over the hole base u cant hide ur strategy and buildings! so the toss can a lot earlier counteractive measures ****...
omg... bad grammar now, i know ~.~

I think we are fine with the observer and transport seperate. I mean, the zerg already have overlords; so having an overlord-like unit that can turn into a pylon when needed would be kinda gay for the zerg. And invis rules on observers. I think they will just stick with what they have.

of course the observer is back, without the observer, the protoss would be blind
