As i watched the demo video once again, their seems to be a Blue Bubble like barrier thing above the left bunker..its looks like it might be a form of the corsair ability, from starcraft, maybe its a ability the tempest uses. thoughts?

how can you tell? we know practically nothing about the terrans and the zerg. imo, the protoss seemed to be just right, and of course, it is the protoss. The protoss have very powerful but expensive units.

But note that it only froze one building, not a whole cluster like classic Stasis Field.

That's a good thing, I remember having a whole bunch of interceptors froze into my own stasis field. But this is kind of lame.....it's just like a re-make of cosair's disruption web

except it can only disable structures, I wish we could learn about its duration on a specific target and if the target structure is vulnerable to attacks while under this ability

Actually, it might do even better than disable structures. Blizzard said that the HT can create barriers, not just for structures. That could just be using the "barrier" on top of a bunker. The HT could also have simply created it right between the bottleneck to block everyone off.

These barriers are gonna completely change the game. Putting them on buildings to reduce bunker fire... i thought these things just made walls? If you can do this to, say, tanks, cannons, units, colonies, it'd be hard to counter. Like a disruption web you cant move out of, since its a barrier too. It was bad enough when arbiters stopped units and corsairs stopped buildings, but to have something that stops both and can make walls? I want to see how this is gonna be countered, because at the moment it sounds bad for defense-minded players(aka Terrans).

Of course there will be a counter... they'll make it balanced as possible. So far in the gameplay vids and all they reveal the troops effectiveness and weaknesses (e.g like warp ray, good against strong hp defense, bad against small, in groups troops.)

I understand that... I was merely expressing a desire to view it.

What interests me is not the existence of a counter, but how it'll be done. Canceling the field? Units that break through? Doesnt work on flyers?

At the mo', stasis field doesnt really have a 'counter', and neither does disruption web. You can leave a disruption web, and stasis field has a weakness(units in field cant be attacked), but neither of those abilities are as godly as this one. This new barrier effect absolutely has to be countered, by both races, because right now no weaknesses are evident.

this ability sounds cool

Surely it'll add much deep to game environment. I think that it won't be solvable (like old stasis) but consuming great amount of energy.

Emm, it freezes now too? I thought in sc2 you can use it as a blockade or something. (like the destroyable rocks)
