View Full Version : Advanced new Zerg upgrade.

I just had an educated idea. Although this has not been officially confirmed, lets just say that their very well may be an advanced upgrade that allows basic Zerg units to move, albeit with a decrease in speed of 25%, while underground. This would work well to balance with the Protoss's new ability to cloak their buildings.

this has been covered in other threads
I know it's a pain in the ass but you'll do yourself a big favor if you read a good amount of other topics and keep more irritable people than me off your back

I'm sorry, the thread titles did not reveal anything related to this. I can do a quick search of topics, but its unreasonable to insist that people read through every thread?

If you are interested, you will read. I read all the threads. So I have little patience for those who choose not to do so.

You might have too much time on your hands if you do so. ;)

Sure, and during your "short lunch breaks" you read through every thread in these forums. Likely story. ;)

if you want to argue, PM me and stop wasting space on the forums with **** topics, there's no reason to be getting minerals from this ridiculous discussion

The thread was an attempted discussion of potentially new Zerg mobility, and you saw fit to hijack, troll, use inappropriate language and make a general nuisance of yourself. I don't want to argue with you, due to the futility of your lack of debating skills.

The Nydus Worm (HAVE YOU SEEN THE JAWS ON THAT THING!) should have an underground attack allowing it to swallow units in a very small radius when it emerges (only small units). Just imagine screaming marines being swallowed alive as dozens of Zerglings erupt from the Worm's mouth, with Hydras crawling out of the ground after having burrow walked over. My guess is that with Protoss warp ability all the races will have much higher mobility abilities.

yea the nydus worm would be awesome if it moved underground, and let's say we could limit its movement when you are at a place in the map where it's visible to you (like borrowing a unit at a chokepoint to make it visible and do a nydus worm ambush). It would obviously have to travel instead of magically appearing (building) like the nydus canal placement.

i already mentioned joker and tiger's ideas =P
nydus should be zerg's superunit

only SOME units should be allowed to move, like only zerglings and hydralisks, imagine defilers and lurkers (yes lurkers) moving around, that would be WAY to unbalanced even with the protoss having cloaked buildings.

LOL 100 stacked lurker tunnels into a base and everything disappears
Just to let you know that this idea has been discussed several times in several topics such as:
http://www.starcraft2forum.org/forums/index.php?topic=38.msg399#msg399
http://www.starcraft2forum.org/forums/index.php?topic=334.msg6380#msg6380
http://www.starcraft2forum.org/forums/index.php?topic=512.msg10505#msg10505
But since this topic specially devotes to that particular idea so it can stay and discussion can be continued. Have fun :)
p.s. I'm moving this to strategy section

We cut the Zerg upgrade per-unit idea. It didn't really work. You had significantly fewer choices by upgrading them individually. It made the game feel a little more predictable (in a bad way). The Evo Chamber is doing what you remember it doing from SC1.

The Zerg upgrades work the same way they do in SC. I personally like this "step back".

Kuvasz, this topic isn't even about the same thing! :D You should have created a new thread dedicated to the upgrade per-unit idea and wether it should stay or not.
