A new category idea: Fan Made Art.

I agree with Gasmask that we need a fan art section, theres alot of really impressive work made out there by blizzard fans and we have a few really talented artists on out site as well.

Unit renders are just cut out units for photoshopping and making signatures etc.
Unit artwork and unit concepts may overlap so put them in the same category.
Name it unit concept art and artwork.

I can't access the pictures (to edit) I uploaded while being anonymous, it's as if I was logged out. (Nomad Concept, Auto Turret Concept, Star Base Concept) .

Oh and encase it's important the anonymous pictures of mine were mother ship attack, plasma torpedo, planet cracker, thor concept art, and battle cruiser concept art

Also LT about picture you said should be fan art, I went ahead and moved it but it is a computer model based on what the artist feels the hydralisk looks like and what he thinks it is so it could be considered concept art to. But since we need more fan art I'll just move it there cause I don't fell like fighting about it :)

Hi guys, please try to upload the highest resolution image there is. There are some low resolution artwork ones which I know are available at a much higher res.

These concept arts should be renamed:
"Shadow" . It's Mengsk.
"Terran cannon" . It's a Nomad Auto Turret.
"Protoss Vessel" should be "Phase Prism".

I can't access Protoss Tech 5 to 9 for some reason.

LT you shouldn't just say delete yours cause you posted first you should check whos is a better quality not just cause it's first.

Also your nuke 2 picture in the landscape was already posted in the concept art section cause it's a concept of a battle between the terran and zerg.

OK, but move yours to landscape and name it Nuke 2 because it's not a unit concept.

Fenix is a global so he should be able to do what he wants with it any way

And also thats section is for all concept art not just one unit concept and since it is a concept art of a battle it can go there so I don't plan on moving it.

Also LT I looked at the time stamps for both of the pictures you want deleted and they both say yours was posted second. Personally however I belive when something was posted is irrelavent its which one has higher quality.

Ok lord to change the name of something go into the main gallery click the hammer and wrench icon with is to the right of the words "Main Gallery" click media manager, pick the gallery you want from the drop box, than click the name or picture of the one you want to edit, a page will come up and you edit what you want.

If you can't open something by clicking on the picture or name than you don't have mod powers over the gallery yet.

Quick question though: Do you wan't people uploading fan made consepts? I noticed a few of the fan made concepts that have been done for various "design your own unit" contests and I don't think those belong. Some of them are REALLY good but I don't think they should belong in fan art. Perhaps give them their own "Fan Concepts" section.


Aslo are you still looking for volunteers? I am usually one here alot in the evenings and nights as well as early morning when most of the people here are asleep.

BoP, there is already a "Fan Concepts" section, it's called "Fan Made".

Yes that's what I said.  The fan concepts are in with the rest of the an art and I think it would be better to have a separate section for those even if it is a subsection.

I have a request for eveyone

Please be more careful when titleing things.  There are a few dark templar drawings labeled as zealots and a protoss head labaled as zealot even though it could be a high templar.  Not every Protss is a zealot and not every terran is a marine


According to "Sons of the Storm" , the site done by the Blizzard artists, zealot  5 and 7 are dark templar and the head labeled as zealot 6 is a Templar and zealot 2 is Zeratul.  Please retitle accordingly as there is a difference between zealots and dark templar.

Also seeing as Kerrigan 4 is a moving.gif it probably goes in renders not concept art

Also in the renders section the one labeled as tem[plar 1. is an archon 2 is not a render it and th zeratul one are just the artwork with the backgrounds removed and thus belong in the concept section.
