from the specs, it looks like it kicks the crap out of both the 8800 GT and GTS and is cheaper than both of them? please tell me i didn't get screwed by the market yet again, buying a sweet card for liek 300 bucks and now this one just came out and is half the price and better!!!?!
thnx

It's sure an improvement over the 8600, but I don't think it's better than an 8800 series card yet. But the price to performance ratio sure is worth it.

The 9000 has a lower performance then the 8800 but cost more...
I researched but the 9600 shouldnt cost much lower should it? At least not in my country...
And i think it has a bit lower performance then the 8800...

the 9600gt doesn't perform better than the 8800gt but it does better than the 8600gt... If you want something more powerful get the 9800gtx when it comes out.

It doesn't exaclty kick the crap out of the 8600, but it's supposed to be about equal, performance-wise. It's main selling point is its sub-$200 price.

to tell you... fudzilla rumored that there might be a 9800 GT, like the 8800 GT. 9600 GT replaces the 8600 GT so yea

Here's a link to the performance summary for this card at Tom's Hardware:-

It looks like it's got a very good performance to price ratio but isn't really more powerful than the high end 8xxx series cards.
