Transformers the Movie

I'm a huge fan of Transformers generation 1, that series totally rocked. But after that I saw the whole transformers universe got raped over and over again by childish (almost pokémon like) reincarnations of the transformer series. Yesterday the movie (real life one, not the 1986 cartoon one) premiered and soon we will all get the chance to see it, but I'm soooo afraid it's gonna be bad, REAL BAD. The pictures and action sequences like so promising, but in my heart I know its gonna suck. Opinions?

I say its gonna be, the one thing that somewhat dissapointed me is that they not gonna put Soundwave in this one...they don't want to do the whole changing size while transforming thing cuz they don't want to take out any sense of realism to it....so they savin Soundwave for the sequel! ;D

but from the previews I gathered that they won't be talking to people, because Shia LaBeouf talks about them being Japanese. which would disappoint me terribly

I know what you are saying, the only thing you just did is repeat yourself. But I don't care if it's a succes or not, there are alot of BAD movies that were great succeses and alot of GOOD movies that 'flopped'. We're talking about the fact that the movie probably will suck for the true generation 1 transformer fans.

The thing with Megatron is that they didn't make him a gun like G1 because of the same issue why they didn't put in Soundwave, they didn't want to do size changing while transforming. In the movie though, they made up like 2 or 3 Decepticons cuz of some issues they didn't want to do or something

It's great to be me. Doens't suck to have taste :P There are enough enjoyable movies from good directors, only sucks that Transformers is directed by that guy and Steven Spielberg (hasn't brought out anything enjoyable lately, war of the worlds new version was quite boring and into the west sucked ass.

The early reviews of it look really good. They mostly say that it's a fun movie to see and the special effects are amazing. I'm pumped as hell. I used to have all kinds of transformers back in the 80s.

The key is that they had Spielbergs creative input as well. He's far more consistent with his work. You usually won't see him letting a crappy movie make it to theatres. A.I. may be one of the few exceptions. I'm pretty sure that was Spielberg.

Omg!!! This movie kicked ass!! I haven't had this much rush since 300 :P Of course, it has its cheesy moments, but that's in all Micheal Bay's films and you can overlook that. i accually saw this movie. blackout, starscream, and that tank dude were so much pwnage it's not funny. Optimus prime of course was badass as well.
The begining of the movie with blackout was godly, and near the end with starscream taking out htose f-14's or whatever their called. that was sooooooooooo cool. starscream would constantly switch from his giant mech form to his plane form.

Only three things dissapointed me: 1) They killed Jazz!! (He's supposed to be the Samuel L. Jackson of the Autobots in the cartoons), 2) They didn't have a lot of the power struggle between Starscream and Megatron, 3) NO SOUNDWAVE!! (But he gonna be in T2 so it's ok :) )

Planet transformer would be Unicron, he can revive Blackout into Cyclonus and Megatron into Galvatron... and Brawl err... Devastator into whoever the hell. Rumors say they're going to bring back Jazz somehow.

Optimus Prime dies a lot, he gets revived a lot also.. He dies in the original movie but gets revived in another movie, or maybe even in the series im not sure.

Hot Rod doesn't come to earth for a while into the series, note that the movie doesnt at all depict an autobot resistance on the two moons so we dont even know where the hell he is. He'll probably be in the next movie though, hes quite an iconic transformers character

I actually watched the movie and I really disliked it.

The story is pure crap and introduce nothing new to the world of cinema.. I won't waste too much time describing why I dislike it.. I'll just say that it's not good to me because everything in it (beside the quality of the visual effects) has been done before.

I don't know much about special effects (because I don't find that interesting) but I think they were very good.. I would like to hear the opinion of someone who watches a lot of these movies.. just to know if they are good according to the standards.

i watch a lot of sci fi robotics movies and i compare all of them a lot like all other movies genres too (horror etc) . ofcourse there are many, and there are many that sucks and few that stands out. tranformer for me stands out. 7 of 10 rating.

7/10 for the visual effects or overall?

I would like to know what you think of the visual effects..

because the movies I listen the most are kinda old (70's and older.. so.. I don't really give a damn about visual effects and that's why I don't know if the transformers look super good or not..)

I think the effects are really well made.. there's just 1 thing I dislike about the visuals is that sometimes the camera moves too fast.. and I feel it's that way just to "hide" the crappy made stuff..

beside that.. there are some really nice stuff.

the action was the best part of the movie, but the movie was called transformers, not humans with some transformers on the side... i mean most of the transfomers have 1 line, and you'd only be able to know who was who if u were a fan of the transformers. A lot of the decepticons are not established AT ALL.

Personally I would give 3/10 the 3 points are due to the cool visual effects really because that's all that movie had to offer me.

I totally agree with DontHate, for the first half of the movie I was wondering why they called it "Transformers". But I should have forsaw that.. because it's pretty much impossible to make money with a movie that would have been based on the robots.. adult people needs human in a movie to find it interesting.

Beside that, the plot is very simple and there's absolutely nothing new in it, it's all pieces of already seen stuff in other movies, that were also very cheesy. The same thing again and again, that's what most of the american movies has to offer.

This movie is only good has some easy mindless entertainment, it's not a piece of art. I would rather watch the old Transformer animated movie than what this.. at least the animated one featured more robots..

uhm. yes it was all about the effects and actions. i give it 7-10 almost purely for that. about the script and dialogs, i really dont care, im not saying i did not understand it, actually i do but i dont usually hear the english language in real life . thats why i cant really determine cheesy and crap lines in it. lol

I hated the whole youve got to save the whole world and humans are worth saving, bits of it. the beginning was sorta funny but when they tried to get more serious i was like wtf.... the date i brought with me fell asleep during it and i was so angry.... the girls from the movie were hot but the slutty type of hot not the cute innocent hot....

Me too, first of all, I knew it was going to be bad because remakes of old stuff are always worse than the original.
and even if I knew it was going to be bad, I was disapointed because I didn't expect it to be based around humans but around the robots, just like the old episodes were.
