haha technically Shockwave is right. New Zealand is technically in a submerged tectonic plate called Zelandia. It used to be part of the Australian plate until it broke away. Therefore, New Zealand is techincally a continent. Australia is called a contienent because it is on its own tectonic plate. That is why Greenland isn't a continent because it is part of the North American Plate. Techincally all continents are islands besides Europe which is a "peninsula."

There are also subcontinents like India and the Arabic peninsula. New Zealand is classified as a submerged continent.
