I remember seeing one of these on a misson briefing i think it could be a cool concept? Thoughts?

A universal infected anything would be great, but at what cost?? At what cost??? Undead has the ability to mind control anything they want (okay maybe not ANYTHING) but I rarely see banshees in game. The possibility doesn't always cross the boundary of reality I'm afraid...

Ah well, I just want zerg to be imba, is that so much to ask?

I dont recall ever seeing an infested battlecruiser. A platform yes but never a battlecruiser. Got a pic?

haha imagine is has a suicidal attack and the possible animations it could bring. it could be like nuke-like.

i don't think infested battle cruiser is a good idea. it's mecanical. there is nothing to infest.

Uhh. So is a command center, but it's the juicy center that counts ;)

A fleet of Infested Battlcruisers Nukes...heck, why not just Infested Nukes? They could spread the creep or something...actually that would be cool! Infested Nuke a person's external base, and all their buildings blow up. Then a huge field of creep appears, and before it slowly disappears, move in your own drones and take over the place! Ingenious! Give me power! Lol jk.

Uhhhh, nukes are inanimate objects... infesting them would give you zerglings would three claws or something weird like that...

even 2 heads or siamese quinsectruplets.

I was only joking. Of course Nukes have no organic components. But infesting the ghosts that launch the nukes and modifying the warheads to have creep-spreading properties...

Mass destruction or some gooey gray stuff... gee theres a choice.

It could have strategical, albeit expensive, uses. Just like the Orb of Blight in WCIII, sometimes Zerg need to get creep somewhere, and in less time than it takes to build a Hatchery. Now, a nuke is a little overkill and expensive to do it, but it is faster, by like 300% (if I remember correctly, Hatcheries were 45 and nukes roughly 15 to land, max, not counting build times).

There is a Fungal Missile in Alpha Centauri. You can use it as a weapon- wiping out enemies' income and increasing mind worm attacks on their bases, or, if you can get more resources from fungus than forests, fire them at yourself...and just put up with the extra mind worm assaults.

mm, it gets kinda boring and annoying proposing everything will be infested and hybrids will be running about.

paragon
06-27-2007, 02:45 PM
Yeah, I honestly hope there is like 1 hybrid protoss/zerg unit made by Duran and his Xel'Naga friends and then maybe an infested protoss thing since that would make sense being as auir was crushed.

The idea of the zerg infesting a battlecruiser (and subsequently the idea of infesting any terran unit) is too much like the protoss dark archon's mind control ability. Since Blizzard is trying to make each unit and each race and each special ability as distinct as possible, I highly doubt the zerg can infest the BC. In fact I don't think the zerg can infest any unit at all, hence they replaced infested terrans with banelings.

But the DA might be out, and infestation is a key to the Zerg mythos.

[LightMare]

infestedness is getting out of hand. not everything can be infested, especially not mechanics, unless zerg can withstand might shocks that would kill a man in a split second

i'm wondering. if u infest a scv, and use it to make a building. then the scv explodes, will you still be able to use the building?

burkid

in BW i would MC enemy worker units every now and then, then make a second base from a different race. i suppose if you do it fast enough it would work, but i dont think you could build a CC that fast.

And a DA mind controlling an entire Battlecruiser crew makes sense?

how would an infested bc attack? shoot spores?

Does it really matter at this point. The day Blizz incorporates infested BC's, is the day I stop playing SC...I know it's a drastic decision, but come on..Infested BC's?

just what i thought. theres too much talk about infestation and hybrids. lets concentrate on more serious and likeable topics

Sure, if they are powerful enough I don't see why not.

I reckon that only certain Buildings should be infested. I remember reading that Zerg can get some unit in SC2 called a Saccubus. It can infest a Marine, then the Marine proceedes to blow himself up. :P

I mean realistically. It's makes much more sense for Zergish spores to affect an entire crew (Ventilation system) then for one being to mind control a frigate.

paragon
07-04-2007, 03:02 PM
More of a cruiser that a frigate really... battlecruiser in fact. Much larger than a frigate. More crew. Realistically, neither can happen. In the realm of crazy *** aliens either is possible.

maybe if scourages or mutalisks bite a battlecruiser in the ass? then an average bc could be infested ???

or they would just be burned up by the massive engines

a universal infected unit would rock or a bulding you make in ur base and you can infect/ infest one too two units per like 2 min?? think that would be cool

paragon

maybe infested units are like the demons of the warcraft series. There was like 1 demon in warcraft 2 and like 7 or 8 in warcraft 3.

i think the terran control zerg is much more likely, remember how they got control of the OVERMIND with just 4 medics, crazy, i think time to switch the roles of who infests who

burkid
07-16-2007, 02:25 AM
that overmind was in its young stages still.

marinepower
07-16-2007, 04:15 AM
Thats way to cheap for a zerg player to be able to infest a battle cruiser. For a command center, it needed to have below 60% hp to get infested. If that was true for a battlecruiser, than it would still have 300 hp left when it's handed over to the enemy. That's a huge loss for the terran player, especially if i can make suicide planes. o.O

L89
07-16-2007, 06:07 AM
If the zerg can infest terran and the protoss can mind control...
Then Blizzard MUST introduce the psi emitter in sc2 as a terran unit and then we're talking! Now the zergs can infest all they want because in the end they still all belong to the terran muahahahaha!

Edit: But really, even if it happens in the starcraft story, i won't like it to be in the game. Everytime i see those infested marines gets my blood boiling.

UchihaItachi0129
07-20-2007, 02:28 AM
i dont think they're infest marines 1)it's a infested COMMAND CENTER 2) it's called infested TERRAN not marine. it's probably some random civilian that got infested.

Maybe they should keep the infesting to buildings, not units.

how about the BC needs 30% health before you can infest, and it still takes copious amounts of tiume
