Unknown Airship?

After looking through the official StarCraft 2 website and viewing the concept art, I found something that should make a good discussion. So I decided to look through the forums to post it and I was very surprised to find that no one really mentioned anything about this particular piece (I could be wrong though. 8)) Click here (http://starcraft2.com/art.xml?11) to see what I am talking about.

It was located in the artwork section and well I thought it must be a concept drawing for some new Terran airship? It could be possible, because it does not look like anything we have seen before. It is too small to be a dropship and looks just about right to be something in the offensive field. Perhaps it is a new Terran gunship? What do you guys think?

Also on the lower left corner, it says something but I cannot make it out clearly, I think it says CGIGE Concept

Looks like a futuristic helicopter. I think we saw it in the trailer....The (Sorry, it looks like it to me) Republic Gunship looking thing flying through the city.

I think everyone else just assumed that it was a new terran airship that may or may not be in the actual game (just like many things in StarCraft cinematics are not in the actual game) and everyone else just left it at that.

and it looks nothing like a republic gunship.

But why was it not discussed if "everyone else just assumed it was a new terran airship that may or may not be in the actual game"? There are topics about Snipers, Anti-Protoss shields, etc. etc. This thing surely deserves a spotlight :P!

Oh they look like one of the futuristic air units in Empire Earth (Spectre AT or the Repaer Gunship), but I have no picture of it. If you have the game, then take a look at it.

That'll be cool if that's a new air unit. If I had to guess, that picture looks like an air to ground attack unit. eh just speculating.

haha I played EE prolly back in my early high school days. It's a lot of fun cause I love it when I'm at like 2 epochs ahead and own my opponents. I don't like EE2 that much cause it felt like playing Microsoft's Rise of Nations and it didn't feel like an EE-esque game that much. However, EE3 looks REALLY nice actually. Maybe I'll give that a try.

What the Terran Grizzly?

It seems to be inspired from the Orca fighter in the Command and Conquer series, maybe it's a replacement for the Valkyrie? Though it could be the bomber too...

Remember back in the days of BW beta that Valkyries used to be a Bomber?
Blizzard eventually scraped the idea. I think Blizzard are really intending to make a Bomber for the Terrans in SC2. Maybe that Bomber will be the Grizzlies.

yeah luckily starcraft is a lot better than command and conquer and doesn't have ridiculous abusive units.

also, starcraft doesnt have air units that land when you arnt telling them to do something. and need to reload.

oh yeah i hated that part of command and conquer so much. air units are always having to go back and reload. Thats one fun/realism thing where fun wins hands down.

haha I hate it when air units needed to reload! That's why I like the venom in C&C 3 for the nod... you can build a lot of them since they are cheap, they can attack ground and air, and they don't need to reload!

WOW I was just lookingat something about armored pesonnel carriers and it gave me the best idea for a terran bomber that can hit from afar: A GUNSHIP!

Ever seen the transformers movie? If not theres a scene were this huge helicopter called a "gunship" opens fire from like 2 miles away on a scorpion thing with these hi-yeiled, explosive, machine gun, thermal shells and they blow holes right through the thing! What if they put some thing like that on  something that looked futuristic?

maybe it is some form of an interbattle support unit as it seems to be small, fast looking and appears to have two cannon things on its sides, however they are different from eachother and one may be a machinegun. Never the less i think it is to be a escort/support craft like todays hellicopters. Also with some examination of the artwork it seems that the terrans are alittle more advanced than i thought(with all the towering buildings) and appears that a building behind the aircraft is on fire, which would indicate it is in a battle zone over a large terran city.

As well if one was to look closely they could see that there are faint vapour trails behind aircraft which would mean it is either very fast or flying really high.

Oh and from the look of its cockpit it seems to be 1 person which would mean it is most likely not a bomber.

Are yuo guys still talking about the grizly! Its just some random thing that blizzard put in ghost( wich never was realesed ) t omake online play fun I meen they have a jeep with machine gun of the back to, its just in ghost and not starcraft 2!

It can't be a dropship cuz dropships are supposed to be able to carry up to two seige tanks, and the things looks smaller than a seige tank... it's probably an anti-ground aircraft, since terran air's anti-ground kinda sucked (the only really good anti-ground was BC and its Yamato Cannons

i dont know guys...but it sure likes the new concept for something like valkyrie with a ground attack to me b/c:

1- i somehow can makeout to missile barrels in each side of the cockpit
2- the background shows a building on fire
