I <3 SC Winners Announced!

Blizzard has finally announced the winners (http://www.blizzard.com/us/inblizz/contests/ilovesc/) of the "I <3 SC" contest.
Congratulations to the lucky winners. Even one of our entries is a winner!

We would like thank all the participants in our I <3 StarCraft contest. We received submissions from StarCraft fans all over the world and have compiled hundreds of them into a I <3 StarCraft photo mosaic (http://www.blizzard.com/us/inblizz/contests/ilovesc/images/iheartsc.zip).

In my opinion, the winner from our site, which was Marcus' one of the three men on the beach with I <3 SC 'tattooed' on their backs was definitely not our strongest submission. Don't get me wrong, he definitely deserved to win, but not with that submission. Again, in my opinion, his iPod one was by far his best submission, and it was one of my favourites, if not the favourite, of all of our submissions.

Why is every image used like 50 times? And why are there simple nature photos with the logo just slapped on them? This is a serious letdown. Not because I didn't make it, but because half of those images are 5 minute jobs and are worthless.

ya i was kinda disappointed too at the quality of the photos. Don't get me wrong some of the photos are really cool or witty other however....

I am so very happy! Thx for all the compliments! And I agree with ItzaHexGor, my winning pics was one of my poorest submissions! Neverthless, I am happy to bring fame to our Forum, and, of course, to win the shirts!

It's strange. I participated to the contest, I am not among the winners, but my photos compose the mosaic.

I participated to the contest in Blizzard Europe, France. And thanks to Jon-Eagle I participated to the US contest.

I got a t-shirt of "I love SC", I didn't win the US contest. But Blizzard France told me that I won in their contest.

what I dont understand is that for a starcraft contest, why did almost all the winners have nothing to do with starcraft?

At least my images were sc related and not just some random picture with the logo slapped on. I actually took time to make the ones I had.
So disappointing :(

Yeah, after such a long build up, this is real let down. Especially with the stuff like a completely unpainted Chaos Space Marine Defiler with 'I <3 SC' under its arm and the others of complete randoms holding a sheet of paper. It almost looks as though it was just a luck-of-the-draw-type thing.

About the mosaic, there much have been so many submissions that it pisses me off so much that they just used the same images over and over and over and over and over and over against for the vast majority of it. Things like that must be so easy if you know what you're doing and they're such a large company that had so long to perfect it with no deadline or anything, so why didn't they include more?

@ Samir Souleyman. You probably won a place in the French competition, but didn't win the overall competition. Obviously things like this wouldn't all be done at once, and there'd be several pools or stages where a certain number are chosen to go onto the next stage, etc.

i agree with eon and hex. i mean, mine wasn;t 1337 or anything but it took me like an hour to make. so many random people with posters and pictures *sadness*

For some reason the PR department decided to handle the contest in this fashion. The pictures were not chosen for their quality, but rather for their color content. There are programs that will allow you to create a larger image based on smaller images and it scans these smaller images for the closest match in color hue and lighting.

So the most compelling reason for certain images winning is the colors they contain. :-\. It's a bit rigged as someone could just make sure some of the colors in the Tychus Findlay image are also in their photo.

But great submissions, guys, I wish more of you had won! Also, I will check into your situation Samir. You had numerous pictures in the mural but only received one shirt and you weren't listed as a winner? WTF?

It's true Jon, I really don't understand why I didn't win. :( But don't worry, I am not sad. However I respected the rules at each point of them. The size of the picture first.

As you can notice my pictures are "realistic". I mean I got a paper on which I printed the "I love SC" logo, then I went to some famous places of Brussels, then I asked some people I met there to take some pictures of me, the logo, and the landscape behind me. So you can notice I moved myself to make those photografs. I sent more than 4 pics of me.

You notice I created real pictures of me. I didn't take some pictures from internet or wherever else, and modified them like I do for my avatars (Bush, Bin Laden, etc ... LOL)No, mine are true.

I would like to thank those people who helped me, those people I met and that I didn't know who were so gentle to bring me in photo. I want to thank you too JON to have sent my photos to the US contest.

I am really glad anyway that Blizzard posted A LOT of my pictures in the mosaic. :) I am glad too for the t-shirt !

I will make some other pictures of me, one with the t-shirt too soon. I want to send to Blizzard. I read in the battle.net forum Karun wrote that Blizzard will remake another contest of the "I love SC". For those who didn't send some pictures we can send more to Blizzard.

JON, do you know where exactly I can send the newest pictues (tha I will do) ? I mean the e-mail address for the next contest

Anyway the T-shirt is too big for me, it's a XL size, and i need a M. So the T-shirt stays in the closet ..... lol

Yeah, the one I received is XL too. Blizzard's apparent policy is "one size fits all." Never mind that if you do a poll around 60-70% of people will choose a medium shirt.

mmm .... we don't know .... because the answer is a cliché.

you know what I am thinking about ? Why a XL size for every fans of Starcraft ? Because when a player spends time in front of a game he does not eat and drink safely. So he gets obesity.

Morality : in the eyes of Blizzard Entertainment, a fan of Starcraft, I mean a real fan who spent a very lot of time in front of his computer become obese now.

Am I wrong ?
