I think it would be cool if they allowed 10vs10 games ;p It'd be a massive battle. Though, problems like lag and people dropping out would ruin it. What limit would you like to see?

10 v 10 is FAR too many

5 v 5 max sounds more logical

not only will there be connection problems, the map would have to be enormous, and the amount of time for the units to travel into an enemy's base is unpractical

Sounds cool but yeah, not feasible. People will be dropping out left right and center, and people with slow computers would probbaly have a hard time with 2000 units on screen!

lol yeah ;D
Wonder what the population limit is going to be.
5v5 sounds just enough ;)

There were a lot of times when there were a lot of people in the channel I hung out in that wanted to play a game, but we'd have to split it into two games because of the 8-player max. Let the players decide how many they want to play with, I say.

I think that 5v5 or 6v6 is a really good limit because you could play 6v6 in Warcraft 3 and it was all cool.

SC1 allowed 4v4 so certainly SC2 won't go lower then that. 6v6 sounds cool to me. Though the maps would have to be HUGE.

That brings me to another important question I have: How important would expanding your base be in SC2? In Starcraft, 3-4 bases per player would be made into the map as a standard (except money maps). In Warcraft 3, 2 bases for each is the norm. In what direction do you guys think Blizz will lean: few or many bases?

I'm going to say many because its the most SC-ish option and blizzard seems to be intent on making this a 'starcraft' game. not orcs in space.

Rofl, I actually liked those Starcraft-based Wc3 fan maps with the space orcs in them. They had spunk! My point is that I agree with the "many bases" option. I can imagine the Zerg dominating expansion sites very easily.

This is not Warcraft in space!

since SC2 will once again be rush-focused, several players will probably be wiped out before they even have a chance to expand, whilst the few remaining players might have around 3-4 bases

whatever game i play in i like to have only 1 base at a time, it means u can concentrate more on on other things, so i say 1 base 8)

I think 5v5 is a good amount. allot of ppl will leave in the early stages so lag wouldn't be a problem ^_^

Well, warcraft 3 was already up to 12, I think its even more tihs time.

HI, i was just wondering what you guys would think about having more then 8 players in SC2. Do you think that would be good or bad, and how would that affect the maps and gameplay? What about online. Oh well i was just wondering what other people thought. I personaly dont think its a good idea cause it may cause lots of lag and with so many people maps would have to be REALLY BIG. :o

It would be awesome, just not in ladder games, but for LAN or bnet games I'd love it. Just gotta be though with all the backstabbers/laggers.

yea laggers i agree with but how will haveing more players increase the amount of backstabbers. it will probably decrease it because it would be 11 v 1. unless of course they are in a bsing party. those are fun.

lol, backstabbers do alot of weird things. I saw some literally attack someone in his team after the 4 other players were eliminated (4v4). So yeah most of them do it for the kick, and most of the time they have a huge army and 1 or 2 of their ally has like 3 bases left, so they finish them. They're just that evil.

Yea I hope they put that you have to lock the teams to prevent backstabbing.

lol I can always tell like from the beginning that someone is gonna backstab me... its like a natural gut feeling.

8 player maps is fine i think. Il only play 1on1 and 2on2 anyways so dont really care much.
