What ever happened to the Terran commander from Starcraft, and the other one from brood war (UED)?
I mean, what happened after Jimmy and Commander ran away from the Dominion to join the circus? And what about the UED Commander? Did he die with the fleet? Does anyone know??? Or will there be a third commander for the terran?

all i know is that UED's leader dugalle is dead. he commited suicide on his battlecruiser i think in the last cinematic trailer.
i think raynor is a wonderer now and is planning to kill mengks. hahah.

I bet Jim Raynor and Mengsk will get in some sort of conflict soon. They both kind of parted ways after what Mengsk let happen to Kerrigan. Theirs prolly going to be another task force sent from earth to find out wth happened to the UED fleet. I'm sure the UED were suppose to report back after a certain amount of time. Notice in the gameplay video the new commander ;)

that was an admiral. Admiral Gastavere or something like that. and his eye glowed.

Guess the commander never will be the same person twice...

Well it been like ten years (or something) so it kinda makes sense to have a new commander, at least for the Protoss and Terran (cerebrets are immortal).
I don't see the UED coming back but it could happen. Raynor will probably make a return perhaps as the leader of rebel forces.

Eh, Protoss live on to be hundreds of years old, I'm sure we still have Executor. We might end up with a new Commander though, since we might either start with Raynor's crew or Dominion.

Doesnt Raynor end up chilling with Zeratul?
And what happened to Artanis...does his group of the protoss just go out into space looking for a place to resettle?

Raynor and Zerry went separate ways in the end... i guess their relation to eachother was bridged by Fenix, but now that's he's kicked the bucket (May you R.I.P...) they don't really have much interest in eachothers company... after all, Jimbo is after Kerrie, while Zerry wants to rebuild Shakuras and strengthen the fledgling Protoss civilisation there. Separate ways...

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this idea yet...
When I first saw the name of this post, I couldn't help but think "You know, Terran Commander sounds like a really good unit name."
Now I know everyone is afraid that the game is moving towards other types of RTS but wouldn't it be awesome to have a weak Terran unit but with awesome abilities to call for interplanetary barrages or something? That would make for a very different game, because you could store the Commander unit in a building when you aren't using his abilities. That way the enemy has to search for him directly to stop his abilities and the Terran would have to decide when to risk his life in casting something.
Or am I just crazy?

The commander is the player so that would mean you'd be giving orders to yourself. Besides we already have hero units, casters, and super units so it's no really needed.

lol Not one but two people said I was crazy, I can't argue with that. :P
I just thought it was a neat concept... oh oh! What if the Terran Commander unit was a unique, like you actually track him down in the campaign or something? That might work for a mission where you have to find which base he's in.

yah, sounds good. a commander unit. now we need some engineers too. ^^
anyway reminds of red alert, where you need a spy to infiltrate enemy base and find someone important in enemy hq.

i wouldnt mind a commander unit but apparently most starcraft/warcraft players hates supreme commander so.....o.0

Man, I hope we get to play as Raynor's forces. Being Mengsks top general would really sour my day anyday.

Well that would only work if you were playing as the Protoss or Zerg commander and if the Terran commander was not really you but someone you were playing as. And I really want them to keep it that you are the commander and not playing as someone else.

Problem is capthavic, there are already two terran commanders (assuming the second survived). Which one would you be? Or would you be an entirely new one (again, which is probably the case)?

I heard that playable terran faction in SC2 will be Dominion (hail to da emperor!) but dont worry, raynor raiders will be probably seen in protoss campaign.

it's more likely (IMO) that just the first one survived. But I think that all three sides will have new commanders and the old ones will be forgotten.

That's...depressing.
"Thanks for saving us from utter annihilation. But we are better off with out you. Consider yourself retired."
"what?"
*BAM*
"Ok, who wants to be the new leader?"

In the extended universe panel at BlizzCon, someone brought up this question. They stated that, while they had considered including the previous "commander" in the new game, they couldn't get it to work with the new system. Instead, the player will be playing as Raynor, or as the other heroes.

I didn't think we would be playing as a commander as soon as I saw how the campaign was structured. Still, an official explanation would be nice...
It's alright though; there are worse holes in the story than that (like any story).
