If you have ever been to Disney World from 1994-2003, you have probably experienced the now extinct attraction Alien Encounter, where you may have wanted to kill Michael Eisner for allowing the scaring of seven year olds like that. I am thinking that a Starcraft attraction like Alien Encounter would be very appropriate in a theme park somewhere, like Universal's Islands of Adventure. I can see it now, you enter a Confederate science facility. Supposedly, they have brought you here to show you a new organism which could become a threat to the human race. They give you a little preview show in the first room of Duke telling you where they found it, and what it does (they are not being truthful, because the Confederates are reproducing them), then you are redirected to the showroom, where you sit tightly in a seat with over-the-shoulder restraints. Of course, they reveal a hydralisk in the containment tube in the center of the room, where it makes loud noises and bashes the tube. Duke talks on one of the monitors in the room. He says "It is highly dangerous, for I have seen it kill one of my men." After Duke babbles on, Jim Raynor appears on one of the monitors. He says "What are you doing?! You are putting those people in a lot of danger! Evacuate them out of the building now!" Duke says "You don't know anything about these Jimmy, maybe you can tag along and watch. Now, I must show these people what this thing is capable of." Raynor says "What do you mean? I have been fighting these things off recently, and I know what they are capable of; I have seen many of your Confederate command centers infested with things like this. I hope part of this show does not include feeding this thing, because that would be crazy." Duke says "Not on my watch; this thing gets faster and stronger every time you feed it something. But now is not the time to discuss such petty matters." Duke starts controlling things with the tube and lasers appear around the inside of the containment tube. Duke says "No worries people; it is contained very securely, and cannot-" The hydralisk then starts to shoot acid at the laser transmitters, and creates and power short. Everything goes dark. You can hear it shooting acid at the glass of the containment tube, you can feel the melted glass blowing on you in its vapor form, (water vapor being blown in your face). The hydralisk supposedly escapes into the round room. With the technology of surround sound, you hear it moving around the room, and supposedly killing a few members of the audience, and eating them, blood effects (water), and death screams, with the sound of its piercing weapons, piercing into flesh,(hydralisks do have piercing weapons). Something which has not been used in many sensory thrill shows is a randomizing effect. Certain seats in the round room are equipped with mechanisms which actually blow water vapor on your neck, and water drippers, for that icky drool effect from Alien Encounter. You can't really see anything in the room, you can only smell, feel, and hear things in the room when in the darkness. At the end, a marine supposedly walks on the catwalk above you in the darkness, (you can't see him either, except for his flashlight), and shoots the heck out of the hydralisk, with blood effects (water) spewing all over again. The marine says "I can get this damn room's power back up, just wait a second folks." He restores the power, and you feel a slight electric shock on your back, like in Alien Encounter, when he is restoring the power. The marine says "Let me pull this thing (hydralisk) out of here." You hear him dragging it out, pulling the doors apart to get it out. He gets back on the catwalk, and the power is restored. You are free to go. Duke says "Sorry for the inconvenience, have a nice day." Raynor adds in, "Yeah, I hope they know how lucky they are to get to see the world's first threat to mankind itself." The monitors turn off, and the restraints are lifted, and the exit is open, where you are directed to a gift shop and an area with a restroom. Any comments or suggestions?
