Diablo III?

I haven't seen anybody of the Blizzard art crew do a Diablo piece since Warcraft 3 (I think, maybe a year or so after) and suddenly this piece comes out before Blizzcon where Blizzard said they'd be revealing a new game.

Is anyone thinking the same thing I am?

Its possible but not likely cant just say something is coming out soon just because you have seen some new artwork of it

I'm not saying it's coming out soon but they could've started developing it and they're getting concept art going already.

Hmmm...interesting thought. I've never played Diablo ever, so I can't be excited with it too much, but I thought the original Blizzard team that made Diablos 1 and 2 disbanded?

It looked like cover art for books becuase blizzerd has ads on battle.net, and the spider art was the art for the book Moon of the spider a book based off of diablo i havent seen the others befor but im sure there just book art. and i looked again and it is book art it even has the name of the books right under the art.

but i id be happy to be wroug id like to see a diablo 3.

God I hope so, I haven't played a decent RPG since KoTOR. Then again that art work, is it official? Looks like something any artist could do, plus doesn't say much about the game...

It's by Samwise, pretty much the best concept artist for Blizzard.

they did. and now that team's working on hellgate: london. which looks pretty much like a Diablo MMO.

Will diablo 3 be released? I'm almost positive eventually it will. But with everything they have on their plates right now, i don't think it'll be for a LONG time. But I'll definately be one of the first in line to buy it.

according to wiki, there were two lesser evils left unaccounted for. also, the worldstone held for forces of both heaven and hell at bay, but now that it's gone, no such thing keeps those forces at bay now. dun dun duuunnnnn

That artwork in the link was used for the Blizzcon banner. At first i thought there might be a chance of a diablo3 coming out but thats highly unlikely, even if they were hiring for rpg staff.

As we all know the diablo team split and the game Hellgate: London has been made by some of the developers from diablo. I have been playing the alpha version of hellgate and I can tell u, it is an absolutely great game. It feels like an evolved, revolutionized diablo. I think it would be an unwise move for Blizzard to try and compete with this title with their own Diablo3 simply because they don't have the original talented developers from the old diablo game. They won't be able to capture what hellgate has.

Anyway, that is my opinion. I cant wait for hellgate to come out and keep me occupied for a long time. I cant wait for sc2 to come out and fill those gaps when im not playing hellgate. :)

Hellgate looks pretty slick but I'd like to learn a bit more about it.

I'd play a Diablo 3 over it though, if Blizzard is planning on making one.

i really did enjoy diablo 2 and spent way to much time playing it. but as proswimma said, they pretty much back them selfs into a corner story wise. all the major evils are dead and a majority of the minor ones are kapoot as well. as much as i loved diablo and d2 i would be hard pressed to scrape up the enthusiasm for athird installment, unless they really out did them selfs.

For the last time if blizzard ever made a diablo3 it would most likly not make any sence and or just plain out be strange and kinda gay. Imagin some one kills you then takes your soul and kills that too. Thats the freaking end man. Theres nothing eles left. at that point your 100% dead. how the hell would he come back. and if he didnt come back the game would not even be called diablo3. The would call the game the (Sin Wars: Reloaded). blizzard would call the game this because the first Sin wars was a massive was that they wrote about in one of there books. I forgot witch book.

Even if Diablo isn't there, they'll call it Diablo 3 if it follows the story of Heaven fighting Hell for control over Sanctuary.

Just look at the Quake series too.
Quake 1 - You're fighting Quake.
Quake 2 - Fighting a brutal cyborg race called Strogg.
Quake 3 - The strongest fighters in history are taken into an Arena to fight to the death.
Quake 3 Team Arena - Some new fighters must band together to make it out.
Quake 4 - Takes place in time immediately after you kill Quake 2's boss.
