My scariest moment i had is when i went on a family vacation to Vanuatu. I was 9 back then

My crazily-adventurous mum insisted that we walk up to the top opening of this active volcano......yes you've guessed it; there was a minor eruption (thank god it's "minor") when we were up there. we just ran for our lives!!

thank god no one was hurt, it was SO scary that i'm now very reluctant to go on holidays with my parents

LOL. My one was when I almost got hit by a car. I just ran across the road and I swear the road was clear but I heard a screeching and honking and the car actually touched me but only a nudge. I was safe but I was f**ing scared! I look super carefully when crossing roads now.

Ah, one time, I was driving in this desert at night, just me and Sarge in the truck....We hit what we thought was some dog, except it was all scaly. And slimey. Then we look around cause we hear this growling, right? There was all these weird, slithery, drooling things. I booked it, but Sarge didn't make it.....Poor guy.

OMG Fenix isn't that from a cinematic from SC1?

What about the other one where a ghost and some marines were inside an abandoned science vessel, they brought in a bomb, had some drinks, then the sound appears.............

how about i describe fenix's scariest moment?

there wa the time when i got ambushed by hydralisks... i was freaked out cos i was on my own, but i still decided to go down fighting. i ignited my psy blades, in spite of my fatigue.

just when things couldn't get any worse...

my psi blades powered down. and the hydralisk advanced... i looked on with fear and desperation...

damn.

Yeah, but you can't keep me down. And it wasn't scary. Remember, I fear no enemy for the Khala is my strength. I fear not death for our strength is eternal.

Well, living in Florida for 13 years and living in Mobile, Alabama for awhile, I've had my share of hurricanes. Hurricane Ivan was very terrifying, it's almost hard to describe. And, I was driven through Hurricane Dennis, from Pensacola, Florida, to Jacksonville, Florida, and was caught in the outer "bands" of it.

what kind of 'near death experiences' ?

I was "deformed" when I was a kid, I couldn't hold food in, so every day I either puked and/or choked until I turned blue, not to mention starvation.. I've also had Nmonia (Slaughtered words ftw) quite a few times, but then again I geuss that's not fatal.

And I've almost lost an eye.. twice. >.>

EDIT: I was also attacked by a Pitbull earlier this year.. heh.

Remember that it doesn't necessarily have to be near death experiences. It can also be some form of supernatural encounters :P

Many people probably have seen the American version of the movie The Ring. Has anyone seen the Japanese version? Anyway if you've seen the Jap version you'll know why my story is particularly scary.

I was sitting in the lounge room reading the newspaper. It was around 10pm at night so I had the lights on, the heater is running, the TV is on and it's some news program.
Then suddenly there was a black out and all my lights went out, the heater stopped. BUT, the TV was still on!! for some very very strange reasons. Immediately I thought of the Japanese version of the movie The Ring and I was SO freaked out I almost fainted :P

The power came back on after a minute or so. You have to seen the Jap of the ring to understand why it's scary....

LOL, so did your tv screen suddenly become blurry and showing a well..... After that, you see someone crawling out from it and walking slowly towards you... :o :o :P :P

Thank god that didn't happen!! If the TV showed a well and something crawIing out I would of had a heart attack!!. Luckily it was a news program with this hot presenter so I calmed down quickly :P.

There's more scary moments related to the Jap Ring movie from my friends. Though they could of made it up:

One of my friend said he watched the movie on DVD, and after he's seen the movie, the dvd player malfunctioned and the dvd was stuck inside!! He said he was really scared so he thrown out the whole player along with the dvd!!

My other friend said she saw the movie in a cinema, when the movie finished and the credits came out, she took out her phone and tried to call someone, suddenly her phone rang while she's dialing!!! She got so scared that she chucked her phone across to the other side of the cinema......!!

But my story is REAL....it really did happened!!

Fenix

That movie is seriously the creepiest movie I've ever seen. Especially the Jap version.

I had an experience like yours sorta. I was playing on my computer, and the power went out. My computer was still on though. Freaked me out, I tell ya.

Then I realized I was on my laptop.

Ya indeed. I believe if the same thing happens, it would scare the hell out of me as well....

mc2, there are 2 explanations I can give (think of)

1. You TV is equipped with rechargable battery ;D
2. There was a sudden voltage drop (electricity insufficiency) and it happened that the electricity only able to support your tv at that moment. This does happen occasionally if your neighbours (or those who lives nearby) have short circuit devices operating

mc2
06-02-2007, 08:28 AM
^ hahaha that would have been freaky too ^

Don't laugh but after seeing the movie (I think I saw it in 1999) I was so freaked out that I moved the mirror and the computer out of my bedroom :P

Oh ok, so that's why the TV stayed on, but it was good that it stayed on because there was this sexy news presenter presenting the news :D

I heard of exorcist before, but never watched it. I think it should be R-rated (refer http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0204313/). For me, scary movie is different with disgusting/ strong violence/ disturbing movie. Gore and violence movie is disgusting, but not scary IMO, it just makes you feel very uncomfortable after watching :-\ Scary movies IMO are those related to ghost, supernatural, soul etc... The most disturbing movie that I have ever watched is "Ichi the Killer", if you don't have strong nerves, you might be vomiting after watching.

And Hitchcock's films, while mostly of the physical horror genre, are still simply amazing works of art.

I once was watching the tv in my room and all the lights were out and the door to the hallway was open. So I was watching and all of a sudden I see (in the corner of my eye) this blue blur in the (dark) hallway and I figured it was just a spasm in my eye nerve or something. Don't ask me why I did the following, but after the blur I pulled up my middlefinger to the spot where I saw the blur (I guess just for fun) and on the moment I did that the tv went out and I was in total dark.

One time I was sitting in the train with a friend and we were sitting on the last seat looking to the door that leads to the hallway, also, the train was quite filled with people. We were at the semi last station and my friend had to go out because he lived in that city, and I had to go to the last stop. So he stands up, gives me a hand and walks away, along with a few other people. The train starts riding again after they went offboard and after a few minutes it brakes quite hard, stopping with a shock and the lights start flickering. After like 2 seconds the lights go normal again but the train is still standing still in the middle of nowhere. So I look behind me and the WHOLE part of the train was empty, while the last time I watched it was quite filled with people. I guess they all went offboard using the door on the other end, but it quite freaked me out.

And O yeah, one time I just saw this really really bad movie about an alien invasion. The people in the movie heard a beep in their ears and after that all the electronica in the house started to freak out, turning on and off. A few hours later I was trying to sleep and I hear a beep in my ear, it reminds me about the movie and I start laughing in myself, thinking about what happened in that movie. And like 2 seconds later multiple sensor lights in my street turned on... damn I was freaked out.

Haha coalescence, I once got a bit freaked out on a train when this mentally ill guy suddenly took his pants off and walked around and offered people if they want to have sex. It went and told the guards and they called the police who came to arrest him.
And once this jerky guy from school decided to blocked the door so it wouldn't close. the train started moving with the door wide open. and when it braked sharply he almost fell out.....

Well this originally wasn't my scariest moment because it only lasted for a few days. Some of my other less scary moments lasted like monthes. But hey it's like #2 in my scariest moments. so i'll just write it here.

Well we were in CCX is you don't know what that is don't worry about it. it's just a little camp kinda thing. and anyways Tommy says ok tonight we are going to learn about exorcism, possessing, and true evils of the world. and i was like ummm ok.. and anyways we voted between "The Exorcist" and that movie about that girl who got possessed. it's kinda new. i forget the movie title. but there was an ad. like she's walking down a road and when she looks at people's face they get all jacked up or something. but anyways "The Exorcist" won. so at 11:00 P.M. everyone who wanted to watch is had to go to the meeting room. and i went because hey why not? and well it was damn scary. the backwards crab walk down the stairs >.< *shivers* that was nuts. and well after the movie we went back outside to head for our cabins and it was so damn dark and cold. and we had to sleep on these weird matresses and i was so scared that night that i ended up falling asleep with breathing through my mouth instead of my nose and when i woke up everyone was like DAMN dude you snore loud. >.<

some random dude is just sitting on his couch aggresively sticking out his finger and boom darkness

my scariest: when i was about 11-12, on a wet day outside my mom's clinic, i was walking along on top of a wall where left side was just half a metra above ground and the other side was like 4-5 metres. slipped and fell head/back first. dunno how but did a small airflip and landed on my chin. i couldve died if i landed on my back, head first or not. but during that 1 second of falling was the scariest thing ever

mine, is when i was like 4 yrs old, i was climbing a mountain, not a huge one, with my family, there was this hole on the trail, i was alredy almost to the top, and a bush was covering it, and my foot slipped down the hole. omfg i was sweating so much my heart was pounding, then i got a grip on the buush and pulled my self up... i looked down that hole and i saw that it dropped straight down to the ground... Oh god. sorry for all the commas. When i think back to that moment i get scared...

Well, this was this one time when my family was visiting my aunt in Australia 5 years ago, my little brother was bitten by the aunt's dog. It happened when we was seeing a movie, i was sitting right next to him and i got covered in his blood, apparently the dog severed an artery or something in his face... it was quite nasty, usually blood has never bothered me, but i guess it's a different thing when its your brother.
He made it though, my mother is a nurse so she knows **** about bleeding so she put pressure or something to the face... he was stitched within like 3-4 hrs of the incident. The first week or so his face was swollen pretty bad by the stitching and stuff, but now he looks perfectly normal, can't see the scars unless you use magnifying glass. Australia got 1337 surgeons :P

Technically it wasn't too scary, just... disturbing. Surrealistic.

when i was 7 my family went to South Africa to my aunt's beach place near Durban. we went to the ebach. that day, they raised the nets for fishing, therefore sharks could come in. they also issued a big wave warning, so they said don't go deeper than your knees. being all adventurous, i said f*ck that, so i went in all the way. the next thing i knew, i was in a rip tide, being sucked into the ocean. i glimpsed a shark fin as well. i must have passed out, and i woke up in in my dad's arms. i had been smashed against the reef, so my arm was bleeding.

When I was about 4 and my brother 2 my family and I went up to a cabin in the woods by a pond in New Hampshire. We were playing outside, on a gravel-covered part of the yard. But these weren't normal gravel stones, they were a bit bigger, maybe the size of a wallet or change-purse. My brother wanted me to play hide-and-go-seek. I said no. He picked up a stone. He said you better. I said no. He threw the rock, I ducked, and it cut the top of my head. It bled profusely. All I remember is going up the stairs to the house in the middle of nowhere by some random pond with blood spilling all over the steps even though my mum was sopping the blood up with a paper towel, and subsequently sticking my head in the sink while she washed dirt and **** out and watching the blood and water go down the drain.

The scariest moment of my life was once when I was in Rio De Janero (the most dangerous city in the world) I was walking with my girlfriend and her brother, and he saw someone come out of an alley and was coming at us quickly, so he said "RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN" and we ran for several blocks and the person disappeared. It was creepy because the bandits in that city will kill you for the pettiest thing, like anything you might have on you. There was another moment like that where her brother thought he saw this guy stalking us with what looked like a gun, but I think he was just a creep. Moral of the story, corruption and social unrest in a developing country = very scarey. ;)

Also on the beaches, all the women wear Tongas, which are like Bikinis, except WAY SMALLER!

While scuba diving, I was bumped into by what I thought was my diving partner. Instead, I turned around and saw a 12-foot (or somewhere in that neighborhood) mako shark sort of "hovering" in the water right behind me and staring right at me. It hung there for a few seconds, and swam right past me, lightly brushing my right leg.

It's one of those moments where I look back and wonder why my immediate reaction wasn't to soil myself and curse everyone I've ever known. The odd thing was, in that moment I wasn't so much scared as I was surprised. I didn't really acknowledge what had happened until we got back in the boat. And for those of you thinking "ah, it wouldn't have actually done anything": it's easy to say that when you've never had one sneak up behind you.

Edit: I should also probably add that I haven't been scuba diving since.

Well my scariest moment is when i was sleeping and i woke up in the middle of the night and i heard weird noises it sounded like some Silent Hill noises so i thought 'that can't be right' so i concentrate what the sound is and where it was coming from and i realized that my older brother was playing Shenmue ;D

One of my scariest moments was when I was back in private school. I remember sitting in English class and hearing my name being called from the door. It was the dean of students. He started out by taking me outside the door and asking me, "Do you know how sometimes you may accidentally touch somebody else?". I answered yes. He said, "Well, there have been reports of you and other boys saying that two boys in this school are 'gay' because they like to touch each other." I said, "Yes, they are, because they like touching each other." I felt like I should just punched myself for saying that in front of a highly religious man who's job is to discipline students. He said nothing else, except "Come", and I almost laughed because I thought of a different version of the word "come". I received five detentions that day, and a phone call to my home. 7th grade was not one of my favorite grades to go through. I am glad I am now in public school, because the Xbox 360 is not considered an evil machine in public school.

The scariest moment of my life was probably watching a tornado come right at me in a car, only to have it go the opposite way.

scariest moment of my life so far... the day my mom passed away. She passed away on Feburary 17th of this year.

It was scary when i came home and found out she was in the hospital (it was a very sudden thing) and my older brother and i waited and waited for my dad to call.

And when my dad didnt call but instead came home... i was terrified. I knew it was bad news.

After GETTING the news... i dont think id ever been more scared in my life as in, what do i do now, what am i going to do without her?

And im STILL scared because i STILL don't know what to do without her. I feel very lost.

I am sorry to hear that :( I have a friend that lost his father recently and he went through rough times too. I am sure you are doing the same thing. But now he is alot better and he tells me that he is done mourning the death of his father (he felt lost...) because he knows that his father would want him to be happy, not sad. That has been his motivation and he is doing alot better. Think about how your mother would want u to feel. I am sure she wants u to be happy in life.

the real scarriest moments off youre life are when you find one off youre parent crying and youre to scared to ask them why because youre imagination is thinking off all the most horrible things possible.

but setting that aside, once i was snorcoling in a small lake just outside off town and I thought I saw a stick sticking out off the bottome mud so I whent closer and sudenly realised when it turned towards that that it was a GIANT 2 meter long eile feadingand was  1 foot away from my face...My soul jumpt out off my body and I STARTED SWARING AT IT AND SWIMING AWAY AS FAST AS POSSIBLE and when I came up there was an old bolde guy staring at me wondering why there were so many boubles.

Oh and once my mom and sister were out, my dad was at a meting some were and it was mid night. I was alone in the house, with all the lights off siting in a big chair in the middle of the living room not up against any thing... I was watching signs. Now signs isint a scary movie, but taken the current situation, it took every sigle bit off courage in my body to keep myself from freeking out and turning on the lights.

The Scariest Moment of my life is: When I moved the Rebel fleet in for the attack on the second Death Star, only to discover that it was a trap and we were surrounded by Imperial class Star Destroyers!

ok then... Scariest moment of my life... hmm I was roller blading by a pond with tons of rocks around it. This little kid was in my way, so I turned. Somehow, the guy in front of me also turned with me and I had to do another rapid turn towards the pond. Tripped on a few stones and for a second went flying head first into the rocks. Instead I landed on my chest and slipped into the pond. I thought I was goners.

Either that or when my little sister was born!

When I was in my basement, and the lights flicked on and I turned around to see a bloody clown who then said...
"Take of yer pants."

There was the time at Calaway Park I almost fell out of the biggest rollercoaster there.
And when I almost drowned when I was 8.
Or the two times I almost was hit by a car.
Maybe the time I was walking home at night and there was a truck with two guys around 20 in it slowly following me.
Or the time I was almost mugged at the mall in the underground parking.

Actually more of a Dane Cook's Vicious Circle influence.

Except I added the part of him being bloody for a touch of evil.

gun pulled on me after talking some **** to a guy down at a poolhall. Damn near shat myself lol.

Then I realized he was a goober cause of the way he was holding the gun so I knocked it away from my face and socked him in the nose until it was a bloody stump. Good times, but seriously, nearly shat myself.

@ Skylark , holy bejesus dude. A 12 foot mako? Where the hell were you diving, Hawaii???

I've been diving before and in the gulf/atlantic you mostly only have to worry about large bulls. But there's always the radio beacon that detects 'em. Get the F*CK outta the water.

I woulda shat my pants. But the classes teach you to stay calm. If you swim away at the wrong angle they'll take it for fleeing and assume you're prey. He was probably just curious. But still... OMFG.

My scariest time:

Camping in northern Michigan. We were hiking around in a forest and we came on these hill things. It looked kind of out of place and the we realized that it was some kind of really old graveyard. There were a bunch of mounds for graves. It was insane. I've never run so far so fast with a 60 pound pack in my life.

BTW, this wasn't some GRAVEYARD. Wasn't marked, wasn't on the map, and we were in the middle of NOWHERE. Upper peninsula, like 30 miles from a town.

I have some other scary sh*t ass stories from the Rockies... but that involved bears.

DO NOT GET STUCK UPWIND OF A GRIZZLY!

Must be a really great fall if you fell...sounds dreamy.
I went to hike once and tried not to do it again,it we started out as a group team trying to clear/open hiking path for other hikers(I'm the youngest, the others was like aunties and uncles)...along the road was those bee nest on top of us and guess what.....*thinking time is over* we didn't even notice,we graped the tree trunk and somehow vibrated the bee hive cause a swarm of warps(i think thats what they call it)it hurted as hell,it was like a burning sensation.Along the slipper road I near feel 210 feet down, and the legs just can't hold on to anything, luckily my hand hold onto the ground(the ground wasn't hard cause it rained)I was like crawling for my life...and slided down to a tree trunk and still kept on getting bee strings(not as much then before) but yet we managed to regroup on the way down shouting for each other. One of the female in our team got so paralyzed that we have to abort the hike and tried to find another way down...

Wow,my first Wall Of Text.Anyway its not my scariest moments of my life but certainly the most painful moments of my life,I managed to avoid it from stringing my face though cause I keep falling...my back gets it all...

I wrote it because Hadean hikes too...
