Seriously, with all the talk about the WC movie, SC needs props too. And if they get a decent director it can't fail. It's pretty much a mix of Alien vs. Predator and Alien(s) (For the marines)

i hope legendary pics will make starcraft. they are making WOW now. awesome! it would own LOTR and 300. hahah.

Are you kidding me, LoTR= Best fantasy movie ever, it might own 300 though. But no matter how much LoTR in fact owns WC, there's no denying the millions of fanboys who are going to see this. It's going to be worse than Harry Potter opening night sadly... And it'll be even worse now that its a video game, atleast HP was a book, therefore suggested intelligence... With my brief get go with WoW... well I sense bad things to come. I expect atleast one murder on opening night lol.

I used AVP and Aliens as examples because... well Aliens=Zerg, Predators=Protoss and Marines (in Aliens) = Terran...

Let's just hope that it's not George Lucas. The last thing we need here is the return of Jar Jar or Ewok like creatures making a cameo. ;)

nah, i dont think it will flap if they will make the trailer badazz like 300. or better.

Well, if we're talking about a halfway decent movie, let's hope not.

Starcraft is cinematic enough, really. Besides, if the movie was made, it would do one of two things (and neither would be really good): It would mimic the story we know (while adding obvious plot/action devices to drawn in the crowds), or it would be a spin-off (something we've seen all-too-often with adaptations). If you consider how movies are picked lately, it's a lose-lose. I'd love to see a Starcraft movie, but there is NO way it would be done right.

The only way I can picture a movie which will measure up to SC's greatness is if it was made in similar graphics which Frank Miller used for 300 and Sin City. It would also have to have brilliant effects, actors and dialogues. Loads of blood too.

It seems like a bad idea all the way around. I mean, what would a starcraft movie even be? I wouldn't want it to mirror the story, because it would probably suck, but...

I'm not sure what to say. Maybe I’ll try to come up with a plot outline. One can accomplish this by playing starcraft for twelve hours than going to sleep. Well, no harm in trying (well, yes there is, but whatever).

It DEFINITLY needs to be CGI only though. Live actors only guarantees failure.

well, they can always make it cgi with live actors, like 300.

Perhaps, but even that's risking it. I'm guessing the actors would probably suck.

My question would be "Why not make a 2 hour lond cinematic?" The cinematics are already nearly movie quality in some respects and they are more starcrafty (if that is evena word).

So you want it to have ****ty lines and overemphasis on special effects leading to a complete lack of anything else being even remotely good? Why would you want that...

Anyways, if it was all computer generated then they wouldn't need a hollywood director because, as shown from their cinematics, they do know what they are doing with all that.

if they just had their cinematic quality stuff fighting for 1 1/2 hours with almost no dialog that would still be cool.

If they really are going to make a starcraft movie, they better make it in 3D. This way the characters will look exactly like they are in the game. If they are making the movie with real actors, people will go like: "Eww...Brad Pitt doesn't look like Jim Raynor!" if you know what I mean.

I think it'll be good. A combination of 300, Braveheart and Gladiator in mind, they can't go wrong. Those 3 movies are some of the best battle movies ever made. Blizzard has high expectations just as we do. I think they'll do a good job.

i think that might fit an SC movie, whereby an isolated group of marine people hold the line off from zerg so that ships come to rescue the civillians. No protoss though... maybe in the end they come to wipe the zerg or something

ah wait i think i get it , a lone survivor marine sees angels in blue armor clearing the zerg with swords X - ) before blacking out

They should make multiple sc movies that are based on the original sc storyline and have them end when Tassadar destroys the overmind. Some ot the events in Broodwar could be moved to before the overmind is destroyed. If the series of movies didnt end with Tassadar destroying the overmind it would be really anticlimactic and wouldnt work for a movie series.

George Lucas should not direct, hes already proven he has gone insane and lost all his movie-making ability

It should definatly be live action

They should rely on both cgi and liveaction costumes and props. Like the dinosaurs in jurassic park that still look good by todays standards or for example the Aliens which were combination cgi and live action or Predator which wasnt cgi at all and looked a hell of a lot better than cgi Jar Jar binks.

If only cgi is relied on it will look silly a blend of the two works the best.
