Welcome StarCraft fans! I know you've all been anxiously awaiting a way to get in on the StarCraft 2 beta, and Blizzard has been promising a few competitions to help you do so. Here's one of them!
StarCraft2Forum.org is hosting the StarCraft 2 Fan Video Contest, with the grand prize being StarCraft 2 Beta Keys. All you need is a couple of your friends, a video camera (no high tech production needed) and an imagination.
Rules:
Minimum 720x480 resolution.
Minimum length 1:00, maximum length 3:00 (Not strict).
Can be submitted via YouTube, etc. but must be available upon request in avi video format.
Must be StarCraft related.
Must be PG rated (no excessive violence, profanity, nudity, etc.).
No illegal acts may be displayed in the video.
Submitted videos must be original content and not include copyrighted material outside of Blizzard Entertainment owned entities (this includes music).
The top three submissions in each category will receive a StarCraft 2 Beta Key. The first place winner will also receive complimentary StarCraft2Forum.org T-shirts for the entire "crew" that will be shipped free within the U.S. If the winners reside outside the United States, they may opt to pay for shipping.
Judging:
Users must submit a video between one and three minutes in length pertaining to the StarCraft franchise and must meet the requirements stated above. Quality of content will be judged above quality of production. We must emphasize that quality of content will be considered before quality of production. Focus on entertaining the audience, not showing off your camera.
Categories:
Winners will be decided in each of the following categories. Click on each for a more detailed description.
1. Register on StarCraft2Forum.org.
2. Record your video and save an .avi version.
3. Upload your video to YouTube.
4. Using your YouTube account, send a message with your video link to YouTube user Tietzmeister to verify that you own the video.
3. Choose a category for your video from the above list.
4. Fill out the form below completely
5. Submit your YouTube (or other video hosting) link in the form below
6. Keep an .avi format version of your video in case it's chosen!
In the case of a dispute of ownership, the date of upload will be used to determine the true owner. Any users submitting videos that do not belong to them will be automatically disqualified from this competition and any others held by SC2Forums.org in the future.
To submit a complaint regarding video ownership, contact Joneagle_X via Private Message on StarCraft2Forum.org.
Outpost Outtakes:
Best podcast oriented video. Examples would include (but are not limited to) a webcam show, a creative commentary on a match, or a voice-over of an existing StarCraft cinematic.
