You might want to consider that at the end of warcraft 3, the races became at peace and there is no more war. The scourge is dead, and the continuing part of warcraft 3 is basically world of warcraft, accept that you play online. The basic story line is in the quests. Blizzard wont have a basic idea to start off to make warcraft 3. Everything is done.

perhaps one of the storyline's from WoW is possible, like the creatures of blackrock mountain forming an alliance
or the murloc sea gods coming out of the water

I believe that the time of WC has finally reached its goal at WoW.......... a 4th series is highly unlikely, this maybe a good time to make other genre's of games ( no shooters please hahaha ).

I think Blizzard loves WoW so much their going to make WoW 2 not an expansion pack but the actually game and get rid of the other server to make more money Genius

They're still making epic loads of money off WoW. Why make a sequel before the interest for WoW has faded? That's just wasting money into development, since the monthly fee would be roughly, if not exactly, the same as in WoW, leading to little profit compared to just letting WoW keep earning them loads of cash.

I agree with Gmg, but I think that if they make a WCIV, then there will be a WoW2 for that storyline? It makes sense, but it would take quite a long time to make both games! but if it was just a WoW2 where would they get the new storyline/content etc from?

This speculation... why should blizzard follow with another chapter of an existing game story?

Surely, they can invent something new that isn't wc/sc/diablo based?

Maybe it's time for change. :)

yes why do so when you've got three of the worlds most succsessful games ever created, why make something else? like it takes a VERY long time to think of an idea. like consider that there is no way anyone could know that there isn't more races on that one world in the warcraft universe? there's only possibly half the planet we know about, so what if they do another WC? That'll just be more stuff to make or break the pro's i guess. Quibble!

@Zelash. They are actually working on a fourth franchise as we type.
It's going to be an MMO, but that's all we know.

I think the warcraft RTS series has always acted as a good tester for technologies to use on SC what to use and what not to use. I mean its an enjoyable series but I don't think they put as much effort into it as they do their other games. It just doesn't sell as much.

I don't see why they wouldn't make a WC4, theres still a good story there, and the gameplay is different from SC2.

Just had an inspiration about the wc4 possible storyline. They are making a movie based around the warcraft universe and they DID say that it would be a new chapter in Warcraft not a story replayed.

It takes place between Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft so it can't be a new chapter... just something that was there I guess.

I haven't heard much from it other than it's existence. But as for WCIV, I agree that it take place years past the WoW time scale in order for it not to conflict with each other.

Arthas woke up and realised it was all a dream... the scorge, the elves, the orcs, and everything. Lordaeron was intact!

Or was it just a dream? Arthas believed it was a premonition. Barely morning, he ran down the streets, throwing his arms up in the air and yelling. "They're coming. The big green monsters. They're coming. You must listen to me. Danger! Danger!"

LOL i'd prefer the WoW storyline ending in the successful invasion of Azeroth by the burning legion, cue WC4 introduction that flashes scenes similar to WoW quests and stuff culminating in Sargeras' laughing face, Malfurion shakes from his vision sweating and screaming, determined to ensure his horrible vision doesn't come true. *setting off from just after TFT*

An ingame conscious effort to prevent what WoW did to the warcraft lore would be nice...

Lol, yes. You play as either Horde, Alliance, Legion, Scourge or Dragons and have to prevent deaths of your heroes :D
