Aren't YOUR dreams a little ridiculous and over the top? That's what made the movie so realistic.

The beginning of the movie really confused me, spent the first bit trying to figure out wtf was going on. Didn't really start to understand everything until he was training a new architect.

By the end of the movie I thought it was awesome. Even though I'd already seen the end since I work at a movie theater, I still felt a bit emotional at it since I now knew the backstory for it.

    Epic movie.
It's the usage of things you know are real (or think are real?) that make this movie an extremely immersive experience.

It was a great movie, but I wished they'd mentioned some stuff more often. Like their names. The only name I remember is Dom, but only cause it means stupid in dutch. The rules of the dream kinda seemed unclear to me as well, why wasn't the third layer weightless when the second was because the first was?

I did wish that the snow scenes were clearer. I couldn't see who was a mook and who was a main character.

It was very awesome though. Easily 4.5 out of 5

I think it was because the third layer was too distant compared to the first layer to feel the effects of the first layer. Think of it this way:

You have a building with three floors. You are in a room in the top floor. The ground cannot support your weight, and you fall to the second floor. However, this does not mean the second floor's ground cannot support your weight, so you will not necessarily fall to the bottom floor.

but the second layer was as weightless as the first, and one of the shocks through the car in the first layer made snow fall off the mountain in the third layer.

My metaphor with the three floors still works with that. Your shirt in the top floor is just as red in the second floor, while it isn't red at all in the first floor.

I thought something in the second layer set off the avalanche?

IIRC the C4 Arthur set kicked off the Avalanche in layer three.

The is only affected by the layer above it to an extent, which is why they needed a kick from the fortress in the hotel.

A kinda good illustration is Saeto getting shot. In the first layer, he's comatose. In layer 2, he has ill effects from it, but not near as much. In layer 3, he's fine until he begins strenuous activity.

So it was something in the second layer and not the first.

Yeah. The explosives in the elevator.

It's been a month though so I could be wrong.

the explosives in the elevator caused a later avalanche+earthquake. I meant the earlier minor avalanche.
