Okay, so I'm a big fan of the ultimate marvel series of comic books. In those books, some really weird stuff has been going down lately, leading to even weirder developments. One of these is that captain america (the guy from the avengers movie) has now been elected president.

Now as for the question: I was under the impression that the president of the united states also held the rank of commander-in-chief. Is it possible to be both president and a captain in the army at the same time?

No, in that you can't be two mutually exclusive things simultaneously.
