    List of Protoss units/mechanics.

    Units:
    _________________________________________________

    Probe:
    Worker for the Protoss. Works the same as compared to the SC1 Probes.

    Zealots:
    First line of defense of the Protoss is back with a meaner look and a new ability. Has a charge ability that when ugpraded, will close in our the enemy extremely fast.

    Immortal:
    Heavy dragoon type warrior. Has a shield upgrade that when hit by heavy weaponed units, will recieve very minimum damage.

    Stalker:
    A dark dragoon that has a special blink ability.

    Nullfiers:
    Built from the Gateway. Has 3 unique abilities. Force Field creates a barrier that blocks enemy units which last 15 seconds. Null Void disables an area from enemy casting any spells. Anti-Gravity lifts up any unit/building for 15 seconds. Anything that are currently been upgraded in that building halts the production and upgrades

    High-Templar:
    Psi-Storm is making a comeback. The AOE is smaller and doesn't deal as much damage. Hallucination is also back.

    Dark Templar:
    Same old Dark Templar from SC1. Nothing has changed as of now, except for that it no longer can merge with another Dark Templar to create a Dark Archon.

    Twilight Archon:
    Rumored to have a ability called Power Overwhelming that deals a bonus of 20 splash damage at a cost of himself of taking more damage from enemy fire. Other then that, they are basically the same units except that they can be merged from either both HT, both DT or a combination of HT/DT.

    Collossus:
    A huge walker unit that can step up and down the cliffs. It's laser attack crreates a line of damage in front of it hurting several units at once, its very effective against swarms of units like the Zerglings or Marines. Since it is very tall and big, it anti-air weapons can also damage them as well as anti-ground weapons.

    Phase Prism:
    A specialized Protoss transport that can transport units and also has an ability to that acts like a mobile pylon. When activated, it creates Psi in a range around the Phase Prism that powers up your buildings when your base's pylons are destroyed. Also very useful combined with the Warp-in ability.

    Carrier:
    Making a comeback from the original SC. The Carrier as of right now has a couple of major changes. First, its max Interceptors is now 4. Second, it comes with 4 pre-built Interceptors. Third, it has an ability that spawns up to 4 temporary escorts to greatly increase a Carrier's damage output.

    Warp-Ray:
    A specialized unit that has a special type of attack that when focus on an enemy for a short time, it builds up damage. Can build up to 3 levels of damage.

    Phoenix:
    An anti-air unit that is very strong against enemy fliers. Has an ability called Overload that can deal damage up to 6 surrounding enemy units. But after the Overload has been unleashed, it will go momentary offline meaning that it cannot move/attack.

    Observer:
    Detector unit that functions exactly the same as the one back in SC1.

    Mothership:
    You can only build 1 Mothership in the game. It has a few abilities. Planet Cracker rains fire on enemy ground units for merely 15 seconds. The Mothership can move while the spell is activated. Time bomb is a defensive mechanism that creates a shield in an area that slows down enemy projectiles and movements. The Mothership also has a natural meta-power field so Warp Gates can now warp units directly to the Mothership.

    Buildings:

    Warp-Gates/Warp-Ins.- Reasearch at Cybernetics Core. Gateways are upgraded manually into warpgates. Once upgrades, can warp-in one unit at a time per warpgate. Warp-In works in that you can Warp any of your Warp-Gate units anywhere that is in the Psi range. Will have a short cooldown before warping in another one.

    Technically we're still looking at 4 confirmed units: the ones on the site. The game isn't nearly complete yet, so units may be added and cut like crazy before we actually get to play it.

    Please use something more suitable, how about.... Suggested Confirmations, instead of saying they've been confirmed. I hate it when people say that and replace.

    dude just keep it simple. it's a published source. there's always a possiblity that they would drop a confirmed unit, but at least it's there and with credibility.

    The ones on the website are DEFINATELY gonna be on. They might drop a couple and add a couple as well

    I doubt there are 17 "confirmed" units. Blizzard said the 3 races in SC2 will have the same number of units as SC1. Now the Protoss in SC1 had 14 units. They are probe, zealot, dragoon, HT, DT, archon, dark archon, shuttle, reaver, observer, scout, carrier, cosair, arbiter.

    Now if there are 17 units that is "comfirmed" then they lied to us :p

    They did say that. But I believe they meant it as an approximate. In other words, they aren't going to triple the amount of units available.

    Where? saying that they said that doesn't really tell me anything. People had been saying that their uncles, cousins, next door neighbor was working at blizzard and that blizzard was working on starcraft all the way back in 2001. I'd like to see the proof, not hearsay.

    Does anyone have confirmed info on the units because most of everything that I have read seems to be bologna. It is my understanding that they have retired several units and there will be a few new ones to take their place? Is this correct? Can anyone post a link to back their claims?

    *throws confetti* although their status in pending, i am still thrilled :drunk:

    TRIpods, have 3 legs. their lasers make people poof and have dust fly everywhere :p colossus, makes people go tss from the heat.

    Ever read WotW? Their laser were called heat beam and tssed people.

    well the new war of the worlds came out after starcraft2 had been in development for over a year, so any similarities are coincidental, the same goes for things like soul hunter looking like necrons and mothership looking like cnc3 version
