Introduction:

Why would you want to convert an .avi into a .gif? Well, there are many answers to this question, however, I'm writing this for those of you who might want an .avi in their signature... Yes, it's possible.. but you have to convert the .avi into a .gif first. Oh I should mention that it also works with other video formats, not only with .avi.

    Requirements:

Basicly, all you need is an easy to use free software called VirtualDub. Guess what, I even provide to you the download link

Beside that, you also need a cool .avi or .mpg file that you want to include in your signature.

    Step by Step Instructions:

    1. Open the video file and find what you want to loop.

    2. Select when your .gif loop should start and end.

Then, select the end of your .gif animation and press the button.

    3. Export your selection into a .gif animation.

Don't forget to select where you want to save it:

    Conclusion:

Keep in mind that .gif animations are much bigger in size than their .avi or .mpg equivalence, you don't want an animation with too many frames or else it'll be much too large to be usable and it might lag a lot. Thanks to SD-Count.

You may want to put somewhere that it is recommended that you do not use every frame for the .gif or it will be huge and lag like no other.

You are right, when a .gif is over 100 frames (which is about 3 seconds of the video file) it gets really huge.

Yeah you suggested that to me like three times already..

The thing is we don't need empty sections and there are like 2 tutorials...

If we ever need one.. I'll be the first to ask sc2forums.

    Thx for the Power up
