I kinda need help making games since i'm a noob aswell but have had the burning desire to design or help with making a game (flash or full-flegded doesn't matter) my question is, can anyone tell me what to do since it would be my first time at it. thanks in advance
You go to: http://www.yoyogames.com/gamemaker Don't be scared the first time you open up the program, it's easier than you think! Check out tutorials and just try to experiment a bit! The help section is very useful as well as the forums. This program fits a newb perfectly! If you need my help just pm me! Or you could start learning C++, up to you.
Www.flash-game-design.com Should be a good place to start, and to see if you are capable of doing this. (I know google is secretly takin over the world and all that, but searching there will not do you any harm.)
Are you going to be making starcraft 2? Because I think you'd be able to get that done before blizzard get to their release date. Here. I'll start you off... Code: 10 PRINT "WELCOME TO STARCRAFT 2" 20 INPUT "Please log In :"; login$ 30 PRINT "Thankyou for logging in, Commander "; login$ ... etc
I tried making a game once but that was what allowed me to find out that I suck at the art part of making games. I don't want to take sprites from other games because I always want the game to be original. So that's why I abandoned making games.
no sorry as you all might not know I have no internet at home so everyday I come to school. thx though I'll check it all out thx guys =) and I can only hope to help with sc2 *giggle* in my lifetime.
http://www.yoyogames.com/gamemaker I second Lobster. If you can't/don't want to code, this is for you. Once you get a hold of it, it's easy and fun to use.
Honestly, if your not working for a company or have gone to school etc for skills that are required for making games, your not gonna make much but simple flash games or at the most working on a mod for a existing game and even that takes a team of people these days. It is a very complex process that I'm sure you are aware of.
It doesn't need related employment or education, as long as you start simple... and every game programmer starts simple.
